Price estimate
We do not have a price for the SCM Accord 42 FXM that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The SCM Accord 42 FXM puts the twin-unit head of the Accord 42 FX over a fixed multi-function worktable instead of a bar table. The head combines a 5-axis routing unit of up to 12 kW (16.1 hp) with a 3- or 4-axis unit of up to 21 kW (28.2 hp), and SCM designs the machine for solid wood elements.
A flat table changes how parts are held. Jigs and locking devices are referenced directly on the surface, which suits repeat production of doors, stair parts or curved components on dedicated fixtures. Changing from one fixture set to another takes longer than repositioning pods on bars, so the machine favours runs over one-offs.
There are four working areas: 4970x1600x350 mm, 6170x1600x350 mm, 4970x2120x350 mm and 6170x2120x350 mm. The 2,120 mm (83.5 in) Y depth is wider than the Accord 42 FX offers; its widest working areas are 5020x1905x350 mm and 6360x1905x350 mm. Axis speeds are 95-90-30 m/min.
As on the bar-table model, one routing unit changes its tool in masked time while the other cuts. Tools are kept in 12 positions on the machining head, a 48-position rear store and a 16-position front store, and the drilling unit has up to 26 vertical and horizontal spindles at 8000 rpm.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Two independent routing units: 5-axis up to 12 kW (16.1 hp) and 3- or 4-axis up to 21 kW (28.2 hp)
- Fixed multi-function worktable for referencing and locking jigs
- Y depth of up to 2,120 mm (83.5 in)
- Tool change in masked time while the other unit is working
- Rear tool store with 48 positions and front tool store with 16 positions
Limitations
- Shortest X is 4,970 mm (195.7 in); there is no compact frame
- 5-axis electrospindle is limited to 12 kW (16.1 hp), against 17 kW (22.8 hp) max. on the Accord 40 FXM
- Drilling unit has up to 26 spindles, four fewer than the 30 (vertical and horizontal) of the Accord 40 FXM

Frequently Asked Questions
01
The head and the listed spindle powers are the same, but this model has a fixed multi-function worktable. Its working areas are 4970 or 6170 long and 1600 or 2120 deep, where the Accord 42 FX lists sizes such as 5020x1680x350 mm and 6360x1905x350 mm.
02
SCM describes a combined machining head with 3 and 5 independent axes. The 5-axis electrospindle is listed at up to 12 kW (16.1 hp) and the 3- or 4-axis electrospindle at up to 21 kW (28.2 hp), both to 24000 rpm.
03
In three stores: 12 positions on the machining head, 48 positions in the rear tool store and 16 positions in the front tool store. Because the two routing units alternate, a tool change can take place in masked time.
04
SCM lists maximum X-Y-Z axis speeds of 95-90-30 m/min. The drilling unit spindles turn at up to 8000 rpm and both routing spindles at up to 24000 rpm.
