Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the Juaristi TX-S TX7-MG40 (MG60) that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from Juaristi or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

The Juaristi TX-S TX7-MG40 (MG60) is the largest table-type milling-boring center in the TX-S series. One column of Juaristi's table covers two table ratings: 40,000 kg as the MG40 and, in brackets, 60,000 kg as the MG60. Everything else in the column is common to both.

It is a big envelope for a table-type machine. X runs 3,000, 4,000, 5,000 or 6,000 mm, Y is 2,500, 3,000, 3,500 or 4,000 mm and Z is 2,000, 2,500 or 3,000 mm. The boring bar is 150-180 mm (5.9-7.1 in) in diameter with 1,000 mm (39.4 in) of W travel. Table sizes are 2,000×2,000 mm and 2,500×3,000 mm.

Loads like these change how the machine is used. The table turns at 3 min-1 and rapid feeds are 25-20 m/min, so positioning takes time and the payoff is in doing four faces of a very heavy part without re-rigging it. Compare that with moving to a floor type machine and a separate rotary table: the table-type layout keeps part and spindle on one bed, which helps alignment between opposite bores.

Head spindle power is 46/70 kW and speed 3,000-2,500 min-1. No torque row is printed. With bar diameters up to 180 mm and power up to 70 kW the cutting capacity is clearly meant for steel and iron castings, but without a torque figure a heavy facing or trepanning job cannot be checked from this page alone.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • Table load of 40,000 kg, or 60,000 kg in the MG60 rating
  • Y travel up to 4,000 mm and X up to 6,000 mm on a table-type machine
  • Boring bar of 150-180 mm with 1,000 mm of W travel
  • Head spindle power of 46/70 kW
  • Hydrostatic rotary table with a double pinion system to eliminate backlash, per the maker

Limitations

  • Table rotation of 3 min-1 and rapid feeds of 25-20 m/min are the slowest in the TX-S table
  • No spindle torque is published
  • The table prints one column for both load ratings and does not say what differs mechanically between them
  • Spindle speed tops out at 3,000 min-1

Best For

Very heavy housings and frames up to 40,000 kg, or 60,000 kg as MG60 Opposed bores in large gearbox and turbine casings Tall parts needing up to 4,000 mm of Y Four-sided machining without re-rigging the part

Frequently Asked Questions

01 What is the difference between the MG40 and MG60 versions?

Juaristi prints them as one column, TX7-MG40 (MG60), and the only row with two values is load capacity: 40,000 kg, with 60,000 kg in brackets. Travels, boring bar, power and speeds are shown once for both. Ask Juaristi what changes in the table and its bearing between the two ratings.

02 What travels does the TX-S TX7-MG40 (MG60) offer?

X is 3,000, 4,000, 5,000 or 6,000 mm; Y is 2,500, 3,000, 3,500 or 4,000 mm; Z is 2,000, 2,500 or 3,000 mm. W, the axial travel of the boring bar, is 1,000 mm (39.4 in).

03 How fast are the axes of the TX-S TX7-MG40 (MG60)?

Rapid feeds are listed as 25-20 m/min under the heading X, Y, Z, W, without saying which axes get which value. The table rotates at 3 min-1. Both figures are lower than on the smaller TX-S sizes, which is normal for a machine carrying this much mass.

04 What spindle does the TX-S TX7-MG40 (MG60) have?

A boring bar of 150-180 mm diameter driven with 46/70 kW at 3,000-2,500 min-1. Juaristi also lists a universal spindle, an orthogonal head and a compact ISO 50 vertical head for the series, with an automatic head changer. Torque is not stated.
