How much does the Ibarmia ZMV4 cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Ibarmia ZMV4 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Ibarmia ZMV4 is a 3 axis moving-column machining center: a fixed table, a travelling column and the vertical ZV head. In effect it is a long-bed vertical machine. X can be ordered up to 12,000 mm (472.4 in), and the spindle is listed at 46 kW (61.7 hp) and 12,000 rpm with SK-40, BT-40, HSK A-63 or CAPTO 6 holders.
Ibarmia describes the ZV head as a High Dynamics spindle and pairs it with what the page calls the highest feed rates, though no rapid or feed figure is printed. With 12,000 rpm available, the natural work is profiles, extrusions, plates and rails in aluminium or steel, cut with small and mid-size tools over a long stroke.
Across the bed the room is modest. Y is 800 or 1,000 mm (31.5 or 39.4 in); Z is 800 or 900 mm (31.5 or 35.4 in). A long table like this is rarely used for one part at a time. Ibarmia lists pendulum working and custom trunnion fixtures, and notes that removing the fixed table under a trunnion gives chips a clear passage to the extraction system. A horizontal rotary table can be added where a fourth axis is needed.
What separates it from the ZMS4 is the head and nothing else on the page: the ZMS4 prints the same travels, spindle power and speed, and adds a head that tilts +/- 120º. If every job is machined from above, the ZMV4 is the simpler machine. If side faces or angled holes turn up regularly, the tilting head saves the extra set-ups.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 46 kW (61.7 hp) and 12,000 rpm in a vertical head that Ibarmia describes as a High Dynamics spindle
- X travel up to 12,000 mm (472.4 in) over a fixed table
- Choice of SK-40, BT-40, HSK A-63 or CAPTO 6 tool holders
- The tool magazine travels with the carriage, so tools are changed at any position on the X axis
- Custom trunnion fixtures and pendulum working are offered for production set-ups
Limitations
- 3 axis movement only: side faces and angled features need a rotary table, a trunnion or another set-up
- Y is limited to 1,000 mm (39.4 in) and Z to 900 mm (35.4 in)
- Ibarmia prints no rapid traverse, feed rate, table size or table load for the model
- SK-50 class tooling is not offered here; it starts with the ZMV5

Frequently Asked Questions
01
A 3 axis vertical machining center built on a moving-column structure. The table is fixed and the column carries the ZV head along X, which can be up to 12,000 mm (472.4 in). It is the medium construction size with SK-40 class tool holders, and its spindle is listed at 46 kW (61.7 hp) and 12,000 rpm.
02
Yes. Ibarmia offers the 3 axis models in combination with horizontal rotary tables, and it builds custom trunnion fixtures with their own clamping systems. The trunnion option can replace the fixed table underneath, which Ibarmia says gives excellent chip evacuation because the chips have a clear passage to the extraction system.
03
They are the same construction size with the same travels. The ZMV4 takes SK-40, BT-40, HSK A-63 or CAPTO 6 holders and lists 46 kW (61.7 hp) at 12,000 rpm. The ZMV5 takes SK-50, BT-50, HSK A-100 or CAPTO 8 holders and lists 43 kW (57.7 hp) at 8,000 rpm. The first is the faster spindle, the second the larger tool interface.
04
Anywhere along it. On the Z series the tool magazine sits outside the working area and travels with the carriage that makes the longitudinal movement. Ibarmia states that this allows the tool change at any position on the X axis, so the head doesn't have to return to a fixed station at one end of the machine.
