Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Huron MX 20 MT that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Huron MX 20 MT is a mill-turn centre with a 2,200 mm turning table. It carries 10,000 kg (22,046 lb), turns at up to 120 rpm, and sits inside travels of 3,000 x 3,100 x 1,600 mm (118.1 x 122.0 x 63.0 in). In effect it joins a vertical turning lathe and a five-axis machining centre in one frame.
Ten tonnes at 120 rpm is serious turning capacity. Parts in this class include large bearing rings, hydro and wind components, pump casings and pressure-vessel flanges. On separate machines each would need lifting and re-clocking between turning and milling, and at this weight every such move takes hours and risks the datum.
Unlike the smaller MT models, the MX 20 MT gives up little table load for its turning ability: 10,000 kg against the 12,000 kg of the MX 20 M, on a table of the same 2,200 mm diameter.
The cutting hardware is the HSK 100-A spindle with 43 kW and 415 Nm, limited to 10,000 rpm, in a universal head that tilts from -45° to +180°. Tools up to 650 mm long and 30 kg are changed from a 60-housing magazine. Linear rapids are 20 m/min. Huron lists the machine at 9,668 mm wide, 9,480 mm deep and 6,620 mm high without APC, and gives no APC figures.

Frequently Asked Questions
01
The milling/turning table is 2,200 mm in diameter, carries 10,000 kg (22,046 lb) and rotates at up to 120 rpm. Huron's table does not list a separate swing figure.
02
Both have 3,000 x 3,100 x 1,600 mm travels, the same spindle and a 2,200 mm table. The MX 20 M carries 12,000 kg with a C axis at 7 rpm. The MX 20 MT carries 10,000 kg and turns at 120 rpm.
03
HSK 100-A with a maximum of 10,000 rpm, 43 kW and 415 Nm, and a characteristic speed of 1,000 rpm. It sits in a universal head with an integrated torque motor.
04
Positioning of 0.007 mm on X, Y and Z and 10 sec on A and C, with repeatability of 0.004 mm and 5 sec. The same figures are given across the universal-head MX range.
