Overview
The HNK HPM-40M (40x80) is a four-metre-wide five-face machine: a 4,000 x 8,000 mm (157.5 x 315.0 in) table, 5,000 mm (196.9 in) between the columns, and 60,000 kg (132,275 lb) of table load.
Unlike the neighbouring HPM-40H, whose column-distance cell is not printed cleanly, this model's table states the figure outright. Five metres between columns with 6,000 mm (236.2 in) of Y leaves the head overtravel beyond the gap, which is where a side-milling attachment needs to go to work the flanks of a full-width part.
Crossrail travel is 2,800 mm (110.2 in), no more than on the HPM-35M. The ram is 400 x 400 mm (15.7 x 15.7 in) and moves 1,000 mm (39.4 in), with 1,200 mm (47.2 in) in braces. X travel is 8,250 mm (324.8 in).
