Price estimate
We do not have a price for the HNK HFM 20X40 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
From the HNK HFM 20X40 upward, the HFM table lists 30,000 rpm as the spindle speed with no lower figure beside it. This is the first of the three 2,000 mm wide machines: a 2,000 x 4,000 mm (78.7 x 157.5 in) table, 4,700 mm (185.0 in) of X and 2,100 mm (82.7 in) of Y.
The head also gains height. Z travel is 700 mm (27.6 in) and the table-to-nose distance 650 mm (25.6 in), so deeper pockets and taller fixtures fit than on the narrower sizes. Both rotary axes are stated here: A at ±120˚ and C at ±200˚.
A spindle that fast on an HSK63-A nose is an aluminium and composite tool. It favours small cutters, thin walls and fine surface steps over heavy roughing in steel. HNK's own description points the same way, naming aircraft, electronic and automobile parts and stressing speed and precision. Table load and spindle power are not published.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 30,000 rpm HSK63-A spindle stated without a lower base figure
- A-axis ±120˚ and C-axis ±200˚ both given in the table
- Z travel of 700 mm (27.6 in) and 650 mm (25.6 in) under the nose
- 2,100 mm (82.7 in) of Y over a 2,000 mm (78.7 in) wide table
Limitations
- Table length of 4,000 mm (157.5 in) is the shortest of the 2,000 mm wide sizes
- HSK63-A at 30,000 rpm is not a heavy steel-roughing spindle
- No table load or spindle power in the published data

Frequently Asked Questions
01
The table gives ±120˚ for the A-axis and ±200˚ for the C-axis. HNK describes the head as an automatic universal head, and the series as a 5-axis high-speed milling machine.
02
The HFM 20X50 adds one metre: a 2,000 x 5,000 mm (78.7 x 196.9 in) table and 5,700 mm (224.4 in) of X travel. Width, Y, Z, spindle and both rotary ranges are identical, so the choice is about part length.
03
The distance from table surface to spindle nose is 650 mm (25.6 in) and Z travel is 700 mm (27.6 in). Part, fixture and tool length all have to fit inside that, and a tilted head needs more room than a vertical one.
