One figure is missing. The cell for the effective distance between columns is not printed cleanly on HNK's page for the 40H, so it is left out of the table here. The HPM-35H, one size down, has 4,500 mm (177.2 in). Ask HNK for the 40H figure before planning any part wider than the table.
What stands out is how little the head changes as the bridge grows. A machine with six metres of cross travel still carries the Ø100 mm (3.9 in), ISO No.50 spindle at 6,000 rpm, 8,000 rpm in braces, with 22/25 kW (29.5/33.5 hp), cont/30min. This is deliberate: the H series is a surface-finishing design. For heavy stock removal on a table this size, HNK's HPM-40M lists a Ø130 mm (5.1 in) spindle and motors up to 37/45 kW (49.6/60.3 hp).
X travel is 8,250 mm (324.8 in). The ram is 400 x 400 mm (15.7 x 15.7 in) with 800 mm (31.5 in) of Z, and the crossrail travels 1,500 mm (59.1 in).
