Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Tongtai GT-630F that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Tongtai GT-630F is a five-axis machining center with a Ø630 mm (Ø24.8 in) table rated for 600 kg (1,323 lb). Travels are 760 mm (29.9 in) in X, 820 mm (32.3 in) in Y and 560 mm (22.0 in) in Z, with an A axis listed at +30 ~ -120° and a C axis at ±360°. In Tongtai's five-axis range it sits far above the CT-350, whose Ø350 mm (Ø13.8 in) table carries 200 kg (441 lb).
The spindle is where this model has the most choice. Standard speed is 15,000 rpm, with 20,000 rpm and 24,000 rpm versions as options. Standard power is listed as 40/40 kW (53.6/53.6 hp), and the optional ratings are 40/30 kW (53.6/40.2 hp) or 42/35 kW (56.3/46.9 hp). The table does not say which power rating belongs to which speed, and it gives no torque figure, so both should be settled in the quotation. The taper row reads '7/24 Taper No.40 (1/10 Taper)'. Confirm which tool interface the chosen spindle takes before ordering holders.
All three linear axes rapid at 48 m/min (1,890 ipm), and A and C are each listed at 25 rpm. The magazine holds 32 tools as standard and can be ordered with 40, 64 or 80. Tool weight is limited to 8 kg (18 lb). A 600 kg table load against an 8 kg tool limit describes the intended work: large, heavy workpieces machined with ordinary-sized cutters at high spindle speed.
Tongtai lists the Heidenhain TNC 7 and Siemens ONE as full 5-axis controls and the Fanuc 0i-MF Plus as 4+1 axis. Simultaneous five-axis contouring therefore needs one of the first two.
This is a large installation. The machine is 2,300 x 5,037 x 3,760 mm (90.6 x 198.3 x 148.0 in) in width, depth and height and weighs 16,000 kg (35,273 lb), so building height, access and floor loading all need checking before an order is placed.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Ø630 mm (Ø24.8 in) table rated for 600 kg (1,323 lb), three times the 200 kg (441 lb) of the CT-350
- Spindle options of 20,000 rpm and 24,000 rpm above the standard 15,000 rpm
- Standard spindle power is listed as 40/40 kW (53.6/53.6 hp)
- 48 m/min (1,890 ipm) rapid traverse on X, Y and Z
- Magazine can grow from the standard 32 tools to as many as 80
- Heidenhain TNC 7 and Siemens ONE are both listed as full 5-axis controls
Limitations
- No spindle torque figure in the table, and the power options are not tied to the speed options
- Tool weight is limited to 8 kg (18 lb)
- The Fanuc 0i-MF Plus version is listed as 4+1 axis, not full 5-axis
- Large and heavy: 5,037 mm (198.3 in) deep, 3,760 mm (148.0 in) high and 16,000 kg (35,273 lb)
- Z travel of 560 mm (22.0 in) is the shortest of the three axes, which limits tall parts once the table is tilted

Frequently Asked Questions
01
The standard spindle runs to 15,000 rpm, and 20,000 rpm and 24,000 rpm spindles are listed as options. Standard power is 40/40 kW (53.6/53.6 hp), with 40/30 kW (53.6/40.2 hp) or 42/35 kW (56.3/46.9 hp) as optional ratings. Tongtai's table does not pair each power rating with a speed and gives no torque, so ask for the full data of the spindle being quoted.
02
The round table is Ø630 mm (Ø24.8 in) and rated for 600 kg (1,323 lb) including the fixture. Linear travels are 760 mm (29.9 in) in X, 820 mm (32.3 in) in Y and 560 mm (22.0 in) in Z. With the A axis tilted the part swings through the work area, so check the tilted envelope with Tongtai for any part near the table diameter.
03
The Heidenhain TNC 7 and the Siemens ONE are listed as full 5-axis. The Fanuc 0i-MF Plus is listed as 4+1 axis, which handles positional work on tilted planes. If the parts need all five axes moving together in the cut, the Fanuc version in this table is not the one to order.
04
The GT-630F has a Ø630 mm round table rated for 600 kg and a 32-tool standard magazine. The HTT-500 has a 500 x 500 mm (19.7 x 19.7 in) table rated for 500 kg (1,102 lb), a 60-tool standard magazine and a 15,000 rpm built-in spindle with 249 Nm (184 lb-ft). The GT-630F adds 20,000 and 24,000 rpm spindle options. Weights are close: 16,000 kg (35,273 lb) here against 15,000 kg (33,069 lb) for the HTT-500.
05
The listed size is 2,300 x 5,037 x 3,760 mm (90.6 x 198.3 x 148.0 in), width by depth by height, and the weight is 16,000 kg (35,273 lb). The 3,760 mm height is the figure most likely to cause trouble, so check crane hook height and door openings as well as the floor.
