HNK HB-110M — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the HNK HB-110M that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from HNK or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training

Overview

The HNK HB-110M is the compact end of the HB table-type horizontal boring and milling machines. It has a Ø110 mm (4.3 in) boring spindle, a 1,000 x 1,100 mm (39.4 x 43.3 in) rotary table and travels of 1,600 mm (63.0 in) in X, 1,300 mm (51.2 in) in Y and 1,000 mm (39.4 in) in Z, with a 350 mm (13.8 in) W-axis for the spindle quill.

What separates it from the HB-110, which uses the same spindle diameter and the same 5 to 3,000 rpm range, is scale and nothing else. The table carries 3,000 kg (6,614 lb), and the spindle motor is 15/18.5 kW (20.1/24.8 hp) on a cont/30min basis, with 20/25 kW (26.8/33.5 hp) printed in braces. The HB-110 has a larger table and 5,000 kg (11,023 lb) of capacity.

Small does have one advantage here. The table rotates at 3 rpm, the quickest in the series, so four-sided work on gearbox housings, pump bodies and machine frames turns around fast between faces. Indexing is 0.001°, and the row label adds that every 90° position is located by a pin.

The spindle taper is ISO 50. HNK lists Fanuc 31i-B and Siemens 840D, and it star-marks spindle speed and table rotation speed as items that can be changed to the customer's requirements. HNK's one-line description of the series speaks of a long-nose spindle and a wide table for large parts.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • Table rotates at 3 rpm, the fastest in the HB series
  • 5 to 3,000 rpm spindle range on an ISO 50 taper
  • 0.001° table indexing, with pin location every 90°
  • W-axis quill travel of 350 mm (13.8 in) in addition to 1,000 mm (39.4 in) of Z

Limitations

  • 3,000 kg (6,614 lb) table load is the lowest in the series
  • W travel of 350 mm (13.8 in) is half the 700 mm (27.6 in) of the HB-130S
  • Base spindle motor is 15/18.5 kW (20.1/24.8 hp)

Best For

Gearbox and pump housings up to 3,000 kg (6,614 lb) Four-sided boring and milling on a 1,000 x 1,100 mm (39.4 x 43.3 in) table Shops with limited floor space for a boring mill

Frequently Asked Questions

01 What are the travels of the HB-110M?

X (table longitudinal) 1,600 mm (63.0 in), Y (spindle vertical) 1,300 mm (51.2 in), Z (column cross) 1,000 mm (39.4 in) and W (spindle axial) 350 mm (13.8 in).

02 What is the difference between the HB-110M and the HB-110?

Both have a Ø110 mm (4.3 in) spindle and a 5 to 3,000 rpm range. The HB-110M has a 1,000 x 1,100 mm (39.4 x 43.3 in) table for 3,000 kg (6,614 lb); the HB-110 has a 1,150 x 1,250 mm (45.3 x 49.2 in) table for 5,000 kg (11,023 lb) and 1,500 mm (59.1 in) of Y travel.

03 What do the figures in braces mean on the HB-110M?

HNK's page prints a second spindle motor rating, 20/25 kW (26.8/33.5 hp), in braces after the 15/18.5 kW (20.1/24.8 hp) figure and gives no legend. Elsewhere on the maker's site a braced figure is labelled as an option, so treat it as a higher rating to ask about.

04 How does the HB-110M table index?

The rotary table indexes in 0.001° increments, and the maker notes that every 90° position is indexed by a locating pin. Rotation speed is 3 rpm, a starred row that can be changed to order.
