Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Hartford HSA-627 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Hartford HSA-627 is the long, light member of the HSA double-column machining centers. It has 6,000 mm (236.2 in) of X travel and 2,700 mm (106.3 in) of Y over a 6,000 x 2,200 mm (236.2 x 86.6 in) table, with a load rating of 18,000 kg (39,683 lb).
It is the only six-metre HSA in the two-guideway group. Hartford gives the x27 models two linear guideways on the X axis and reserves three for the x28, x32 and x36 models. The practical reading: this is a machine for long parts of moderate weight per metre. Aluminium wing and fuselage tooling, long extrusion profiles, rail vehicle panels and light fabricated beams fit that description; a solid steel block six metres long does not.
At this length the X-axis ballscrew is supported as standard, by Hartford's statement for models above 5 meters. The three linear axes are driven by direct-coupled servo motors.
Spindle choices do not depend on the build. A #50 gear head runs 6,000 / 8,000 rpm, a DDS spindle 10,000 / 12,000 rpm and a built-in spindle 12,000 rpm. Motors are 15 / 18.5 kW with options up to 30 /37 kW. Z travel is 780 mm, or 1,000 mm or 1,200 mm optionally, and the magazine holds 32, 40 or 60 tools.

According to Hartford, X axis ballscrew support is the standard configuration for models above 5 meters, which covers this six-metre machine. The support is described as improving sag from the screw's dead weight and its positioning accuracy and life.
