How much does the Hartford HSA-2212 cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Hartford HSA-2212 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Hartford HSA-2212 is the narrowest double-column machining center Hartford lists. Y travel is 1,200 mm (47.2 in), X travel 2,250 mm (88.6 in) and Z travel 780 mm (30.7 in), over a 2,000 x 1,100 mm (78.7 x 43.3 in) table.
Why a bridge machine with barely more Y than a large vertical? Because of what the bridge does for accuracy. On a C-frame vertical the head hangs from a column behind the table, and the overhang grows with Y travel. A double-column frame carries the head on a beam supported at both ends, so there is no overhang to open under cutting load or to move as the column warms. For mould plates and precision bases in the 1,100 mm class, that is the reason to choose this layout.
The table load, 3,500 kg (7,716 lb), is light by double-column standards. The spindle options are simpler than on the HSA-216 too: a #40 DDS spindle at 10,000 rpm, with 15,000 rpm optional, or a #50 gear head at 6,000 rpm, with 8,000 rpm optional. Motors are 7.5 / 11 kW for #40 and 15 / 18.5 kW for #50, the latter with a 22 / 26 kW option.
Magazine capacity is 24 tools. The option is 32 for #40, and 32 or 40 for #50. Column and cross-beam are a one-piece casting with a chamfered internal box structure.
