How much does the Hartford 5A-95Q cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Hartford 5A-95Q that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Hartford 5A-95Q is the largest trunnion-table machine in the 5A series, here in its 4+1 axis form. The table is Ø 800 mm (31.5 in) and carries 850 kg (1,874 lb). X travel is 950 mm (37.4 in), Y is 850 mm (33.5 in) and Z is 650 mm (25.6 in).
Its rotary axes are named and built differently from the smaller E models. The tilt is an A axis with ±120° of travel, symmetrical about the vertical, and C turns 360°. Both are driven by DD motors with a direct rotation measurement system, which Hartford describes as high-precision 4th and 5th axes for long-term stable machining. A symmetrical ±120° tilt means the part can be approached from either side without re-clamping.
The base is a one-piece casting with what Hartford calls a 100% protective design for oil-water separation. Thermal treatment of the three linear axes is optional: cooling devices on the motor bases and bearings, credited with a 15% gain in machining accuracy.
Spindle choices are a DDS unit at 10,000 / 12,000 / 15,000 rpm or a built-in unit at 20,000 rpm, both #40, with 7.5 / 9.8 kW or optionally 10 / 12.5 kW (Cont. / 30 min). The arm-type magazine starts at 40 tools and is listed with 60, 80 and 120 as larger versions. Tool shanks are BT40, with HSK-A63 among the alternatives.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Ø 800 mm (31.5 in) table with an 850 kg (1,874 lb) load
- A axis with ±120° of tilt and DD motor drive on the 4th and 5th axes
- 850 mm (33.5 in) of Y travel, wider than the table
- Magazine from 40 up to 120 tools
- One-piece base with oil-water separation
Limitations
- This variant is listed as 4+1 axis; the simultaneous version is the 5A-95Q-5X
- Spindle motor is at most 10 / 12.5 kW on an 850 kg (1,874 lb) table
- Only #40 spindles are offered at this size
- 3-axis thermal deformation treatment is optional

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Ø 800 mm (31.5 in), with T-slots listed as 14 x 100° (7) mm and a maximum average load of 850 kg (1,874 lb). Y travel, at 850 mm (33.5 in), is wider than the table itself.
02
X 950 mm (37.4 in), Y 850 mm (33.5 in), Z 650 mm (25.6 in). The A axis tilts ±120° and the C axis rotates 360°. Hartford states that the 4th and 5th axes are DD motor driven with a direct rotation measurement system.
03
Hartford lists the 5A-95Q as a 4+1 axis machine and the 5A-95Q-5X as a 5 Axis Vertical Machining Center. Their spec tables are the same line for line, so the difference is in the axis configuration and control, not in travels or spindle.
04
A #40 DDS spindle at 10,000 / 12,000 / 15,000 rpm or a #40 built-in spindle at 20,000 rpm. The motor is 7.5 / 9.8 kW with 10 / 12.5 kW as the option, as continuous / 30 min ratings.
