Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Kitamura Supercell-1000G that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Kitamura Supercell-1000G is a large 5-axis machining center with a 2-station automatic pallet changer, an 800 x 800 mm (31.5 x 31.5 in) table and an NST No. 50 spindle. It takes workpieces up to Ø 1,080 mm x 1,050 mm (Ø 42.5 x 41.3 in) and 1,500 kg (3,300 lb), with travels of 1,570 mm (61.8 in) in X and 1,300 mm (51.2 in) in both Y and Z.
Torque is the headline. The standard spindle is a 4-step geared, dual-contact unit running 35-12,000 min-1 and producing 585.9 Nm (432.2 lb-ft), and Kitamura lists up to 1,225.9 Nm (904.2 lb-ft) in available configurations, with an 8,000 min-1 spindle among the options. That is 50-taper roughing capacity for steel, cast iron and heat-resistant alloys, applied to a part that can be tilted and rotated in one clamping.
The A axis covers 150° (+30° to -120°) and the B axis 0 to 360°, both moving at 25 min-1 (9,000 deg/min), and rotary accuracy is listed as up to ±4 arc-seconds. Linear rapids are 60 m/min (2,362 ipm). Positioning accuracy is ±0.002 mm (±0.000079 in) over full stroke with ±0.001 mm (±0.000039 in) repeatability.
The magazine holds 122 tools, and matrix magazines of 217 or 312 tools are optional. Tool change is 2.1 sec tool-to-tool and 5.9 sec chip-to-chip at minimum, which reflects the mass of 50-taper tooling. The control is Arumatik-Mi CNC. Plan for a 75 kVA, 200 V AC, 3 phase supply. The smaller Supercell-400G uses an NST No. 40 spindle at 200 - 20,000 rpm, so the two machines sit far apart in both part size and cutting style.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 585.9 Nm (432.2 lb-ft) from the standard 12,000 min-1 spindle, with up to 1,225.9 Nm (904.2 lb-ft) in available configurations
- Workpieces up to Ø 1,080 mm x 1,050 mm (Ø 42.5 x 41.3 in) and 1,500 kg (3,300 lb)
- 2-station automatic pallet changer on an 800 x 800 mm (31.5 x 31.5 in) table
- Rotary accuracy of up to ±4 arc-seconds, with ±0.002 mm (±0.000079 in) positioning over full stroke
- 122 tools as standard, with matrix magazines of 217 or 312 tools optional
- 60 m/min (2,362 ipm) rapids on X, Y and Z
Limitations
- Chip-to-chip time is 5.9 sec at minimum, slow for parts with many short operations
- Top speed of the standard spindle is 12,000 min-1, which limits small-tool finishing
- Rotary axes move at 25 min-1 (9,000 deg/min), suited to positioning heavy parts more than fast simultaneous motion
- Needs a 75 kVA, 200 V AC, 3 phase supply

Frequently Asked Questions
01
The maximum workpiece is Ø 1,080 mm x 1,050 mm (Ø 42.5 x 41.3 in) with a table load of 1,500 kg (3,300 lb), on an 800 x 800 mm (31.5 x 31.5 in) table. Travels are 1,570 mm (61.8 in) in X, 1,300 mm (51.2 in) in Y and 1,300 mm (51.2 in) in Z.
02
The standard spindle is NST No. 50, 4-step geared with dual contact, running 35-12,000 min-1 with 585.9 Nm (432.2 lb-ft) of torque. An 8,000 min-1 spindle is listed as an option, and Kitamura states up to 1,225.9 Nm (904.2 lb-ft) in available configurations. Confirm which configuration delivers which torque when specifying the machine.
03
Rotary accuracy is listed as up to ±4 arc-seconds. The A axis has a range of 150° (+30° to -120°) and the B axis 0 to 360°, and both traverse at 25 min-1 (9,000 deg/min). Linear positioning accuracy is ±0.002 mm (±0.000079 in) over full stroke and repeatability is ±0.001 mm (±0.000039 in).
04
A 2-station automatic pallet changer and a 122-tool magazine are standard. Matrix magazines of 217 or 312 tools are optional. Tool change time is 2.1 sec tool-to-tool and 5.9 sec chip-to-chip at minimum.
05
75 kVA at 200 V AC, 3 phase. That is a substantial supply, and a shop on another voltage needs a transformer rated to match. The control is Kitamura's Arumatik-Mi CNC.
