Overview
The Haas VF-2YT is the VF-2 with Y travel extended to 20 in (508 mm) and a wider table to match. Travels are 30 × 20 × 20 in (762 × 508 × 508 mm) and the table is 36 × 18 in (914 × 457 mm), where the VF-2 has 16 in (406 mm) of Y and a 36 × 14 in (914 × 356 mm) table.
Nothing else about the standard machine is traded away for the extra Y, and that is the case for this variant. Table load stays at 3,000 lb (1,361 kg). The spindle is the 8,100 rpm inline direct-drive unit rated 30 hp (22.4 kW) with 90 ft-lbf (122 N·m) at 2,000 rpm. Shipping weight is 7,800 lb (3,539 kg). Compare the VF-2SSYT, which shares these travels and adds a 12,000 rpm spindle and a 30+1 tool changer but is rated for 1,500 lb (680 kg) on the table. For heavy fixtures and rotary setups, the YT is rated for twice the load.
The wider table matters most for plates and for parts that are closer to square than long. A workpiece 18 in deep sits fully on the table and inside the Y stroke, and vises can be arranged front and back as well as side by side.
