Overview
The Haas PMC-750SS combines 30 × 20 × 20 in (762 × 508 × 508 mm) of linear travel with a 19.7 in (500 mm) tilting rotary platter, for indexed five-sided work on parts up to 660 lb (300 kg). The spindle is a 12,000 rpm, 30 hp (22.4 kW) inline direct-drive unit in CT40, BT40 or HSK-A63.
The two rotary axes are not rated alike on this size. B, the tilt, travels from +120° to -35° at 170 °/sec with 2,240 ft-lbf (3,037 N·m) of drive torque and a 2,000 ft-lbf (2,712 N·m) brake. C, the rotation, turns 360° at 179 °/sec with 1,854 ft-lbf (2,514 N·m) and a 900 ft-lbf (1,220 N·m) brake. Both are listed as Positioning Only. C has the smaller brake, and a cut taken far from the platter centre acts on it through a long lever arm, so keep roughing close to the centre of rotation where the fixture allows.
Part swing on C is 27 in (686 mm), well beyond the platter diameter, and the spindle nose clears the platter by 4 in (102 mm) to 24 in (610 mm). Thrust is 3,300 lbf (14,680 N) on X and Y and 4,050 lbf (18,015 N) on Z, with 1,200 ipm (30.5 m/min) rapids.
For scale, the VF-2 has 30 × 16 × 20 in (762 × 406 × 508 mm) travels and ships at 7,800 lb (3,539 kg); the PMC-750SS ships at 14,250 lb (6,463.8 kg). Within the PMC line, the PMC-500SS has a 15.7 in (400 mm) platter for 500 lb (226.8 kg) and the PMC-1000SS a 25 in (635 mm) platter for 1,000 lb (454 kg).

The table lists the control type of both B and C as Positioning Only. The machine is therefore specified for indexing the part to an angle, clamping it and cutting with X, Y and Z. Work that needs all five axes moving in the cut is outside what the listed figures describe.
