Goodway HA-1400 — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the Goodway HA-1400 that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from Goodway or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

The Goodway HA-1400 is a flat-bed CNC lathe for very long work: Ø1,400 mm (55.1 in) of swing, Ø1,100 mm (43.3 in) of turning diameter and turning lengths from 2,000 mm (78.7 in) to 10,000 mm (393.7 in). It is the smallest swing in the HA series, and Goodway designates the beds L2 through L10.

Unlike Goodway's slant-bed machines, the HA sits on a one-piece cast iron base with four box ways, and the X-axis saddle and tailstock run on separate guideways. The benefit on a long bed is practical. The tailstock and steady rests can be positioned without the carriage ways being involved, and wear from one does not affect the other.

A 3-speed geared headstock, a single casting that Goodway says weighs 4,000 kg, takes its drive from a motor rated 37 kW (49.6 hp) continuous and 45 kW (60.3 hp) for 15 min. Maximum torque is given as 13,300 Nm. Top speed depends on the configuration: the table prints 800, 600, 500, 300 and 250 rpm with the note that it varies by model, so the speed for a particular chuck and bore has to be confirmed.

X travel on this model is 595 mm (23.4 in). Tooling is a 12-station servo turret, with 8-station and four-way toolpost alternatives. A live tooling turret at 3,000 rpm and a C-axis make up the M variation. The tailstock has a Ø200 mm (7.9 in) rotary quill with an MT#6 dead center.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • Turning length from 2,000 mm (78.7 in) to 10,000 mm (393.7 in)
  • Four box way flat bed with separate guideways for saddle and tailstock
  • 3-speed geared spindle with 13,300 Nm of maximum torque, per Goodway
  • 37 kW (49.6 hp) continuous, 45 kW (60.3 hp) 15 min. motor
  • Steady rests for workpieces up to Ø1,000 mm are available

Limitations

  • Maximum spindle speed varies by configuration, from 250 rpm to 800 rpm, and is not stated per model
  • X travel is 595 mm (23.4 in), the shortest in the HA series
  • Live tooling and C-axis are options
  • The table does not give chuck size or spindle bore per model

Frequently Asked Questions

01 How long can the HA-1400 bed be?

Goodway lists maximum turning lengths from 2,000 mm (78.7 in) to 10,000 mm (393.7 in), with Z-axis travel from 2,150 mm (84.6 in) to 10,150 mm (399.6 in). The beds are designated L2 to L10.

02 What is the capacity of the HA-1400?

Swing is Ø1,400 mm (55.1 in) and maximum turning diameter Ø1,100 mm (43.3 in). X-axis travel is 595 mm (23.4 in). The HA-1600 and HA-2000 have larger swings on the same design.

03 What spindle drive does the HA-1400 use?

A 3-speed geared spindle driven by a motor rated 37 kW (49.6 hp) continuous and 45 kW (60.3 hp) for 15 min. Goodway states a maximum torque output of 13,300 Nm. The maximum speed printed in the table varies by model between 250 rpm and 800 rpm.

04 What tool-holding options does the HA-1400 have?

The table lists a 12-station turret with 8-station and 4-station alternatives. Goodway also mentions a four-way toolpost and a large anti-vibration boring bar on request. A 12-station live tooling turret, with an 8-station alternative, is optional at 3,000 rpm.
