How much does the Fryer ET-30 cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Fryer ET-30 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Fryer ET-30 is a large capacity flat-bed CNC lathe: 30 in (762 mm) of swing over the bed, 18 in (457 mm) over the cross slide and 60 in (1,524 mm) between centers in the base version. It belongs to the ET-LC series, which Fryer builds with double Vee ways and a four-speed geared headstock for work that is heavy rather than fast.
The numbers that matter on this machine are weights and torques. A supported part may weigh 10,000 lb (4,536 kg) and an unsupported one 2,000 lb (907 kg). The spindle motor is 30 hp (22.4 kW) peak, with 50 hp (37.3 kW) optional, and the four ranges run from 10 - 100 rpm in Low 1 up to 675 - 1,500 rpm in High. Peak axis thrust is 8,700 lb on Z. Range changes are manual on the base machine; automatic shift is an option.
Bed length and bore are ordered to suit the parts. Center distances of 80 in (2,032 mm), 120 in (3,048 mm), 160 in (4,064 mm) and 200 in (5,080 mm) are listed as options, and the machine weight rises from 13,500 lb (6,124 kg) to 23,500 lb (10,660 kg) with 200 in centers. The standard spindle bore is 4.10 in (104 mm) on a Camlock D1-11 nose. Fryer's options sheet adds a 6" big bore option with a 6.15” bore and a 9" big bore option, and notes that with the 9" bore the swing of the ET-30 increases to 35".
Despite its size it keeps the Easy Turn way of working, with a full manual mode on 2 handwheels, menu programming and a thread repair cycle for reworking existing threads.
