Overview
Fifteen turret stations and 6,000 rpm rotary tools set the Accuway UA-330LY apart from the UT-300 lathes it resembles in size. It is a long-bed, single-spindle Y-axis machine: 1,250 mm (49.2 in) of Z travel, ±50 mm (±2.0 in) of Y, and a tailstock.
The UT-300LSY and its relatives have 12 stations and rotary tools at 4,000 rpm; this one has 15 stations on BMT-55N tooling and half as much speed again at the tool. More stations mean fewer compromises when a part needs turning tools, drills, taps and several milling cutters in one setup. Higher tool speed suits small cutters.
The turning side is sized like a 10 or 12 in chuck lathe. Maximum turning diameter is 350 mm (13.8 in) and turning length 1,140 mm (44.9 in), with 290 mm (11.4 in) of X travel.
