How much does the Yasda H40i cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Yasda H40i that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Yasda H40i is a horizontal 5-axis machining center for work that ranges, in Yasda's words, from 5-faces indexing to complex simultaneous 5-axis applications. The table working size is 400 x 400 mm (15.7 x 15.7 in), and travels are 875 mm (34.4 in) in X, 740 mm (29.1 in) in Y and 685 mm (27.0 in) in Z.
The travels reach well beyond the table size in each direction. On a horizontal 5-axis machine that space is used up by the tilting unit and the swing of the part, and it is what allows a tool to approach from any side without a second clamping.
The base machine is modest in its automation: 60 tools and 2 pallets. The point of the design is how far that can be taken. Tool storage options are 120, 180 or 240 tools, and the APC can be 12 or 24 pallets, so the same machine can run as a two-pallet cell in a toolroom or as a pallet-pool system that works through a weekend. Yasda gives 240 tools and 24 pallets as the ceiling.
The spindle runs 200-20,000 min-1 with a MAS BT40 taper. That is a range for aluminium and for finishing in steel with small and medium tools; heavy roughing is not what a 40-taper, 20,000 min-1 spindle is for. A direct driven motor for the A and B axes is optional equipment, which is worth pricing if the work is simultaneous contouring, since direct drive removes the gear train from the rotary axes. The control is a FANUC 31i-B5 Plus and machine height is 3,117 mm (122.7 in).

- Expandable from 60 tools and 2 pallets to 240 tools and 24 pallets
- 875 x 740 x 685 mm of travel around a 400 x 400 mm (15.7 x 15.7 in) table
- 200-20,000 min-1 MAS BT40 spindle
- Optional direct driven motor for the A and B axes
Limitations
- The base machine has 60 tools and 2 pallets; the larger systems are options
- Only one spindle is listed, at 200-20,000 min-1 on MAS BT40
- Direct drive on the A and B axes is optional equipment
- No table load or rotary axis ranges are published on the product page

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Travels are 875 mm (34.4 in) in X, 740 mm (29.1 in) in Y and 685 mm (27.0 in) in Z. The table working size is 400 x 400 mm (15.7 x 15.7 in) and machine height is 3,117 mm (122.7 in).
02
The base machine has an ATC with 60 tools and an APC with 2 pallets. Options are 120, 180 or 240 tools and a 12 or 24 pallet APC. Yasda states that it can be expanded to accommodate up to 240 tools and 24 pallets.
03
A 200-20,000 min-1 spindle with a MAS BT40 taper hole. No alternative spindle is listed on the product page. A direct driven motor for the A and B axes is optional.
04
Travels, table size and spindle are the same. The H40i-80 comes with 240 tools and 9 pallets as its base specification, and Yasda presents it as the version for workpieces of larger diameter. The H40i starts at 60 tools and 2 pallets.
