Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Fermat WFT 10/11 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Fermat WFT 10/11 is a medium-size table-type horizontal boring mill with a 100 or 110 mm (3.9/4.3 in) spindle and a rotary table for 10,000 kg (22,046 lb). Unlike the cross-table WFC, the column travels: the table moves across in X, and the column brings the headstock toward the work in Z. Separating the two axes is what allows longer X travels and a heavier table.
In the base configuration with the T10 table, X is 2,000/3,000 mm (78.7/118.1 in). Fermat also offers a T20 version with X of 2,000/3,000/4,000/5,000 mm (78.7/118.1/157.5/196.9 in) and a 20,000 kg (44,092 lb) table load, aimed at longer weldments and welded frames. Y is 1,250/1,700/2,000 mm (49.2/66.9/78.7 in), Z is 1,250/1,700 mm (49.2/66.9 in) and the spindle adds 730 mm (28.7 in) in W.
The SK 50 spindle turns at up to 4,000 rpm, optionally 5,000 rpm. Two motor sizes are listed per control. For Heidenhain or Siemens they are 19.5/29.3 kW and 31/46.5 kW, with torque of 951/1,426 Nm and 1,416/2,124 Nm; for Fanuc, 22/26 kW and 30/37 kW.
All linear axes rapid at 8,000 mm/min (315.0 ipm), and the table rotates at 2 rpm, or 5 rpm with the option. A pallet change system can be fitted to cut the time lost to setups. The linear-guideway variant has its own page as the WFT 10/11 L.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Table load of 10,000 kg (22,046 lb), with a 20,000 kg (44,092 lb) T20 option
- X travel up to 5,000 mm (196.9 in) in the T20 version for long weldments
- Travelling column gives 1,250/1,700 mm (49.2/66.9 in) of Z, with 730 mm (28.7 in) of spindle travel on top
- Pallet change system available; ZPS and Shuttle pallet changers are on the accessory list
- Larger Heidenhain or Siemens motor is rated 31/46.5 kW with 1,416/2,124 Nm
Limitations
- Rapid feed is 8,000 mm/min (315.0 ipm) on every linear axis; the WFT 10/11 L reaches 12,000 mm/min (472.4 ipm)
- Y travel stops at 2,000 mm (78.7 in), so tall parts need the WFT 13/15 with up to 3,500 mm (137.8 in)
- No ram is listed: reach beyond the 730 mm (28.7 in) spindle travel has to come from the column
- The 5,000 mm (196.9 in) X travel and 20,000 kg (44,092 lb) load are options tied to the T20 table

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Layout and capacity. On the WFT 10/11 the column travels in Z and the table only crosses in X, where the WFC 10/11 keeps its column fixed and moves a cross table. The WFC 10/11 carries 5,000 kg (11,023 lb); the WFT 10/11 carries 10,000 kg (22,046 lb), or 20,000 kg (44,092 lb) with the T20 table. Spindle size, taper and speed are the same on both.
02
The base machine uses the T10 rotary table with a 10,000 kg (22,046 lb) load and X travel of 2,000/3,000 mm (78.7/118.1 in). With the T20 table the load rises to 20,000 kg (44,092 lb), X can be 2,000/3,000/4,000/5,000 mm (78.7/118.1/157.5/196.9 in), and the plates run from 1,600 x 1,800 mm to 2,000 x 3,000 mm.
03
A boring spindle of 100 or 110 mm (3.9/4.3 in) diameter with an SK 50 taper in DIN, MAS or ANSI form. Maximum speed is 4,000 rpm, optionally 5,000 rpm, and the spindle travels 730 mm (28.7 in) in W. Power is 19.5/29.3 kW or 31/46.5 kW with Heidenhain or Siemens, and 22/26 kW or 30/37 kW with Fanuc.

Yes. Fermat states that the machine can be equipped with a pallet change system to speed up processing, and the accessory list for the series names the ZPS and Shuttle pallet changers, a tool changer, a pick-up station and a KUKA robot. These are accessories, so check what a given offer includes.
