How much does the Fermat WFC 10/11 cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Fermat WFC 10/11 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Fermat WFC 10/11 is the smallest horizontal boring mill in Fermat's table-type range: a cross-table machine with a stationary column, a 100/110 mm (3.9/4.3 in) boring spindle and a rotary table rated for 5,000 kg (11,023 lb). Because the table carries both the X and the Z movement, the column never travels and the footprint stays short. Fermat describes it as a compact machine for shops with limited floor space and says it also suits serial production.
Travel options are modest. X is 1,250/2,000 mm (49.2/78.7 in), the headstock climbs 1,250/1,700/2,000 mm (49.2/66.9/78.7 in) in Y, and the table feeds 1,250 mm (49.2 in) toward the spindle in Z. The spindle itself extends 730 mm (28.7 in) in W, which is what reaches into a housing once the table has brought the part in. Table plates run from 1,000 x 1,120 to 1,400 x 1,800 mm, and the CNC rotary table is driven by two servomotors.
The spindle takes SK 50 tooling and runs to 4,000 rpm, with 5,000 rpm as an option. Motor ratings depend on the control. With a Heidenhain or Siemens CNC the table lists 19.5/29.3 kW or 30/45.5 kW (S1/S6), and torque of 951/1,426 Nm or 1,416/2,124 Nm. With Fanuc the pairs are 22/26 kW and 30/37 kW.
This version moves at 8,000 mm/min (315.0 ipm) in X, Y and Z. The WFC 10 L is the same layout on linear motion guideways, with 30,000 mm/min (1,181.1 ipm) rapids and 1,500 mm (59.1 in) of Z.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Cross-table layout with a stationary column keeps the machine compact; Fermat lists it for shops with limited floor space
- 730 mm (28.7 in) of spindle travel on top of 1,250 mm (49.2 in) of table travel in Z
- Two motor sizes per control: 19.5/29.3 kW or 30/45.5 kW (S1/S6) with Heidenhain or Siemens
- CNC rotary table driven by two servomotors, with plates from 1,000 x 1,120 mm to 1,400 x 1,800 mm
- A pallet changer, a tool changer and a pick-up station are on the accessory list
Limitations
- Table load stops at 5,000 kg (11,023 lb); the WFT 10/11 carries 10,000 kg (22,046 lb)
- Rapid feed of 8,000 mm/min (315.0 ipm) is far below the 30,000 mm/min (1,181.1 ipm) of the WFC 10 L
- Z travel is a single 1,250 mm (49.2 in) option, and X tops out at 2,000 mm (78.7 in)
- The rotary table turns at 2 rpm unless the 5 rpm option is ordered

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Guideways and speed. Fermat offers the WFC 10 L as the version with linear motion guideways. The WFC 10 L has a rapid feed of 30,000 mm/min (1,181.1 ipm) in X, Y and Z against 8,000 mm/min (315.0 ipm) here, 1,500 mm (59.1 in) of Z against 1,250 mm (49.2 in), and a table that turns at 10 rpm. Spindle, motors, X and Y travels and the table load are the same in both columns.
02
The maximum table load is 5,000 kg (11,023 lb), and Fermat describes the machine as ideal for pieces of up to 5 tons. Table plates are listed from 1,000 x 1,120 mm up to 1,400 x 1,800 mm. Heavier parts belong on the WFT 10/11, whose table takes 10,000 kg (22,046 lb).
03
A boring spindle of 100/110 mm (3.9/4.3 in) with an SK 50 taper in DIN, MAS or ANSI form and 730 mm (28.7 in) of travel. Maximum speed is 4,000 rpm, or 5,000 rpm with the option. Torque with a Heidenhain or Siemens control is 951/1,426 Nm or 1,416/2,124 Nm (S1/S6), depending on the motor.
04
The power and torque rows are given separately for Heidenhain or Siemens CNC and for Fanuc CNC. The choice changes the motor: 19.5/29.3 kW or 30/45.5 kW (S1/S6) with Heidenhain or Siemens, and 22/26 kW or 30/37 kW (S1/S3) with Fanuc.
