Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Feeler SHB-110XXRS that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Feeler SHB-110XXRS is the entry configuration of the modular SHB horizontal boring and milling machines: a 110 mm (4.3 in) boring spindle with the smaller of the series' rotary tables, 1,400 x 1,600 mm (55.1 x 63.0 in), rated for 10 ton. The XX in the code is left open because X travel is chosen from a range, 2,500-4,000 mm.
Feeler builds the SHB series on what it calls a modular structural design that allows flexible configurations. The table shows how far that goes. Besides X, the Y travel is 1,800 mm as standard with 2,000, 2,300 or 2,500 mm in brackets, Z is 1,500 mm or 1,700 mm, and the W-axis quill travel is 500 mm or 700 mm. A buyer is in effect specifying a machine around the largest part, and paying for no more column and bed than the work needs.
The 110 mm spindle runs to 2,500 rpm, with 3,200 rpm as the optional speed; the header of that row in Feeler's table is the one place where the brackets are explained as optional. A faster, slimmer spindle suits mixed work where milling with smaller cutters matters as much as boring.
Rapids are 10/12/12/5 m/min on X/Y/Z/W. The rotary table is driven by a dual-lead worm and gear to eliminate backlash, its joint surfaces are hand-scraped, and all three axes and the table have optical scale feedback. The magazine holds 40 tools, or 60 as an option. Spindle taper, power and torque are not on the page.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Modular travels: X from 2,500 to 4,000 mm and Y from 1,800 up to 2,500 mm
- 110 mm boring spindle at 2,500 rpm, with 3,200 rpm optional
- 10 ton rotary table with dual-lead worm and gear drive
- Optical scale feedback on all three axes and the rotary table
- W-axis quill travel of 500 mm, or 700 mm in brackets
Limitations
- Table of 1,400 x 1,600 mm is the smallest SHB table
- X rapid of 10 m/min and W rapid of 5 m/min
- The longer Y, Z and W travels appear in brackets as alternatives, not base values
- No spindle taper, power or torque is published

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Feeler prints the model with XX and gives X travel as a range, 2,500-4,000 mm, so the two characters appear to stand for the X travel selected. The page does not spell out the code; confirm the designation of the machine you are offered.
02
X is 2,500-4,000 mm. Y is 1,800 mm with 2,000/2,300/2,500 mm in brackets, Z is 1,500 mm with 1,700 mm in brackets, and W is 500 mm with 700 mm in brackets.
03
A W-axis boring spindle of 110 mm diameter. Speed is listed under the heading Spindle Speed (Optional) as 2,500 (3,200) rpm: 2,500 rpm standard and 3,200 rpm optional.
04
The SHB-110XXRM has a larger table, 1,800 x 2,000 mm rated 15 ton, X travel of 3,000-4,000 mm and W travel of 700 (900) mm. The spindle, Y and Z travels, rapids and tool capacity are the same.
