How much does the Feeler HT-30SY cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Feeler HT-30SY that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Feeler HT-30SY is the two-spindle, Y-axis version of the HT turn-and-mill lathe, the model that can finish both ends of a part without an operator turning it round. Its column in Feeler's table carries paired values where the others have one: spindle speed 3,500/6,000 rpm, spindle nose JIS A2-8/JIS A2-5, bar capacity φ78/φ45 mm. The first of each pair matches the main spindle of the single-spindle models, so the second describes the sub-spindle.
In that reading the sub-spindle is a smaller, faster unit: an A2-5 nose turning up to 6,000 rpm. That is the normal arrangement. The second spindle only has to grip the finished diameter of the part, take it from the main chuck, and hold it for back-face turning, drilling and milling.
The tailstock row is empty for this model, as expected when a sub-spindle occupies that end of the bed. Main-side capacities are a 10 in chuck, φ356 mm (φ14.0 in) turning diameter, 705 mm (27.8 in) turning length and 260 mm (10.2 in) of X travel, with a 12-station servo-driven turret.
One row needs care. The through-spindle hole is printed as φ62/φ56 mm, although the HT-30MC and HT-30Y list φ88 mm for what should be the same main spindle. A φ78 mm bar cannot pass a φ62 mm bore, so one of the two figures is wrong in the source; confirm bar capacity before ordering a bar feeder. Feeler also describes a compound Y axis on a 30-degree stacked saddle for the series.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Two spindles allow both ends of a part to be machined in one cycle
- Sub-spindle side listed at 6,000 rpm on a JIS A2-5 nose
- Y-axis milling with a compound 30-degree stacked saddle design
- 12-station servo-driven turret
- φ356 mm (φ14.0 in) turning diameter and 705 mm turning length
Limitations
- No tailstock, so long shafts cannot be supported on a centre
- The spindle bore of φ62/φ56 mm conflicts with the φ78 mm bar capacity listed
- One turret serves both spindles, so the two sides cannot be cut at the same time
- Y and Z travel, and driven-tool ratings, are not available from the table

Frequently Asked Questions
01
The table indicates one. Spindle speed is listed as 3,500/6,000 rpm, spindle nose as JIS A2-8/JIS A2-5 and bar capacity as φ78/φ45 mm, and the tailstock row is empty. Feeler's text does not describe the sub-spindle separately.
02
The table gives φ78/φ45 mm. It also gives a through-spindle hole of φ62/φ56 mm, which is smaller than the first bar figure and differs from the φ88 mm of the HT-30Y. The two rows do not agree, so get the main-spindle bar capacity confirmed.
03
The HT-30Y has one spindle at 3,500 rpm and an MT-5 tailstock. The HT-30SY replaces the tailstock with a second spindle. Chuck size, turning diameter, turning length, X travel and the 12-station turret are the same.
04
A 10 in (254 mm) chuck, φ356 mm (φ14.0 in) maximum turning diameter, 705 mm (27.8 in) maximum turning length and 260 mm (10.2 in) of X travel.
