How much does the Feeler FTC-430LY/XLY cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Feeler FTC-430LY/XLY that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
Feeler lists the FTC-430LY/XLY as the Y-axis lathe of the 10 in (254 mm) class, with 100 (±50) mm (3.9 (±2.0) in) of Y travel and a 12-BMT 55 turret. It comes in two lengths: 435 mm (17.1 in) or 775 mm (30.5 in) of turning length.
A stroke of ±50 mm is a useful step up from the ±40 mm of the FTC-350LY. It is enough to mill a flat or pocket across a fair part of a ø78 mm bar, or to place holes well off the axis of a flange. BMT turrets bolt the holder to the turret face, the stiffer arrangement for milling, where the FTC-430MC/LMC/XLMC uses VDI 40 shanks.
The full ø430 mm (ø16.9 in) turning diameter is kept. Z travel is 480 or 815 mm and X is printed as 215+10 mm. The spindle is the 430 group's A2-8 unit at 3,500 rpm with a ø88 mm (ø3.5 in) bore, and an MT-4 tailstock is listed.
No sub-spindle exists in the 430 size, so second-side work means re-chucking. Driven-tool speed and motor power are missing from the series table. They matter more here than on a plain lathe, because the Y axis invites real milling.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 100 (±50) mm (3.9 (±2.0) in) of Y travel
- 12-BMT 55 turret for driven tools
- ø430 mm (ø16.9 in) turning diameter and ø78 mm (ø3.1 in) bar capacity
- Two lengths, 435 mm or 775 mm (30.5 in) of turning length, both with an MT-4 tailstock
Limitations
- No sub-spindle version in the 430 size
- Spindle speed stops at 3,500 rpm
- Longest version turns 775 mm, less than the 955 mm of the FTC-430MC/LMC/XLMC
- Driven-tool speed and power are not published

Frequently Asked Questions
01
100 (±50) mm, which the table converts as 3.9 (±2.0) in. That is 50 mm either side of the spindle centreline. The FTC-350LY, one size down, lists 80 (±40) mm.
02
Length only. Turning length is 435/775 mm (17.1/30.5 in) and Z travel 480/815 mm (18.9/32.1 in). Chuck, spindle, Y travel and turret rows are shared.
03
BMT 55, with twelve stations: the row reads 12-BMT 55. The FTC-430MC/LMC/XLMC, the milling version without Y, is listed with 12-VDI 40 instead.
04
A 10 in (254 mm) chuck on an A2-8 spindle nose. Bar capacity is ø78 mm (ø3.1 in) through a ø88 mm (ø3.5 in) bore, and maximum turning diameter is ø430 mm (ø16.9 in).
