How much does the Feeler FT-250SY cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Feeler FT-250SY that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Feeler FT-250SY is the twin-spindle, Y-axis lathe of the FT box way series. The S and Y in the name show up in two rows of the table: a Y axis travel of 100 (±50) mm, and a Z/E travel of 1,050/947 mm, where E is the axis on which a second spindle travels. There is no tailstock entry.
Feeler's description of the FT-250 fits this model closely. It names a BMT65 driven turret and C-axis for turning, milling, drilling and tapping in a single setup, a twin spindle design for complex parts, and an orthogonal Y-axis that uses a full box way, non-virtual design. That last phrase deserves a note. Many lathes create Y motion by combining two inclined slides, a wedge-type or virtual Y. An orthogonal Y is a separate slide at right angles to X, and on box ways it keeps its stiffness across the stroke, which shows in the finish of milled flats.
Main-spindle figures are those of the FT-250(MC): a 10 in (254 mm) chuck, A2-8 nose, 88 mm bore, 77 mm (3.0 in) of bar capacity and 3,500 rpm. Turning diameter is 420 mm (16.5 in) and turning length 1,005 mm (39.6 in). The turret is BMT65-12.
Feeler's table has a second column also headed FT-250SY, with a smaller chuck, a smaller spindle nose and a higher speed. It is not labelled, and may describe the sub-spindle. Those figures are not used on this page; ask the maker what the second spindle's chuck, bore and speed are.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Twin spindle design for machining both ends in one cycle, per Feeler
- Orthogonal Y axis on full box ways with 100 (±50) mm of travel
- BMT65 driven turret with 12 stations and C-axis
- 77 mm (3.0 in) bar capacity on the main spindle
- 1,005 mm (39.6 in) turning length on a 45-degree slant bed
Limitations
- No tailstock, so long shafts must be held between the two spindles
- The sub-spindle's chuck, bore and speed are not clearly identified in the table
- Main spindle speed of 3,500 rpm
- No driven-tool speed, rapid rates or power are published

Frequently Asked Questions
01
100 (±50) mm, that is 50 mm either side of centre. Feeler says the orthogonal Y-axis uses a full box way, non-virtual design, providing high rigidity, stable accuracy and efficient chip management.
02
The series text speaks of a twin spindle design, and the table gives Z/E axis travel as 1,050/947 mm with no tailstock. Feeler does not list the second spindle's figures in a clearly labelled row.
03
A 10 in (254 mm) chuck on an A2-8 nose, 3,500 rpm, an 88 mm through-hole and 77 mm of bar work capacity. Maximum turning diameter is 420 mm (16.5 in) and length 1,005 mm (39.6 in).
04
BMT65-12: a 12-station turret with the BMT65 interface. Feeler describes it as a driven turret and says the servo-driven turret with large-diameter curved-tooth coupling enables fast and rigid tool changes.
