Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Feeler FTC-350S/LS/XLS that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
Two spindles and no tailstock: the Feeler FTC-350S/LS/XLS is the sub-spindle version of the FTC-350, in three bed lengths. Every spindle row in its column carries two values. Chuck size is 8/6 in (203/152 mm), spindle nose A2-6/A2-5, top speed 4,500/6,000 rpm and bore ø62/ø56 mm, the first for the main spindle and the second for the smaller one facing it.
The point of the second spindle is the back of the part. It takes the workpiece from the main chuck, the part is cut off or released, and the rear face is turned without an operator turning it round. Bar capacity is ø52 mm on the main side and ø45 mm (ø1.8 in) on the other, so bar-fed parts can be finished complete and dropped off.
The sub-spindle rides on what the table calls the E axis, with 345, 660 or 975 mm of travel on the S, LS and XLS. Turning length is 290, 600 or 910 mm and Z travel 330, 640 or 950 mm. Maximum turning diameter is ø330 mm (ø13.0 in), a little under the two-axis machine, and X travel is printed as 180+10 mm.
This column is turning only. The turret has 12 stations and no milling interface is named; Feeler lists the FTC-350SLMC/SXLMC for driven tools with a sub-spindle. With no tailstock in the table, long slender shafts have to be supported by the second chuck or not at all.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Second spindle with a 6 in (152 mm) chuck finishes the back of the part in the same cycle
- Sub-spindle runs to 6,000 rpm; the main A2-6 spindle to 4,500 rpm
- Three lengths, with 345, 660 or 975 mm of E-axis travel
- 12-station turret, more than the base turret of the FTC-350/L/XL
Limitations
- No tailstock listed, so long shafts rely on the second chuck for support
- Sub-spindle bar capacity is ø45 mm (ø1.8 in), below the ø52 mm of the main spindle
- Turning only: driven tools need the FTC-350SLMC/SXLMC
- Turning diameter is ø330 mm, under the ø350 mm of the FTC-350/L/XL

Frequently Asked Questions
01
The table does not spell it out, but the S columns are the ones with two chucks (8/6 in), two spindle noses (A2-6/A2-5), an E-axis travel row and no tailstock taper. Feeler's text names a sub-spindle among the FTC-350 options, and these columns match it.
02
Spindle speed is printed as 4,500/6,000 rpm. Read with the other paired rows, the 4,500 rpm figure belongs to the A2-6 main spindle and 6,000 rpm to the smaller A2-5 spindle with the 6 in chuck.
03
It is the travel of the second spindle along the bed. The table lists 345/660/975 mm (13.6/26.0/38.4 in) for the S, LS and XLS, which is slightly more than the Z travel of 330/640/950 mm on each length.
04
Not as listed. The tool-station row gives 12 with no driven-tool interface. For milling with a sub-spindle Feeler lists the FTC-350SLMC/SXLMC, whose turret is given as 12-BMT 55, and the FTC-350SLY, which adds a Y axis.
