Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Ecoca MT-210MC that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Ecoca MT-210MC is a 10 in (254 mm) chuck turning center with driven tools: a 12-station turret whose milling spindle reaches 6,000 rpm, on a main spindle of 4,200 rpm and 18.5/22 kW (24.8/29.5 hp). It belongs to the MT-2 series and is built in three lengths.
Read the diameter figures carefully on this one. The chuck is 10 in (254 mm) across, and the maximum turning diameter with the MC turret is 250 mm (9.8 in). In other words the turning envelope is about the size of the chuck body itself. The machine is meant for parts gripped well inside the jaws, such as bar-fed components, hubs and shafts with milled details, and not for large discs. For those, the two-axis MT-210 turns 380 mm (15.0 in).
Why take the 10 in chuck then, when the MT-208MC offers the same 250 mm (9.8 in) envelope and the same milling spindle? Grip. A larger chuck gives longer jaw strokes and a stiffer hold on heavy or long workpieces, and the longest bed of this model allows 1,000 mm (39.4 in) of turning length. The MT-208MC answers with 4,800 rpm at the main spindle.
Length options are 500 / 750 / 1,000 mm (19.7 / 29.5 / 39.4 in), with net weights of 4,000 / 4,900 / 5,500 kg (8,818 / 10,802 / 12,125 lb). The table shows HARD RAIL guideways. Holders and sleeves for the living tool are optional extras, and Ecoca's table gives neither a milling motor rating nor any Y-axis travel.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 6,000 rpm milling spindle and 12 tool stations
- 10 in (254 mm) chuck for a firmer hold on long or heavy parts than the 8 in (203 mm) chuck of the MT-208MC
- 18.5/22 kW (24.8/29.5 hp) main spindle motor
- Turning length up to 1,000 mm (39.4 in) with hydraulic tailstock and live center as standard
Limitations
- Turning diameter of 250 mm (9.8 in) is no larger than the chuck itself
- Main spindle tops out at 4,200 rpm, against 4,800 rpm on the MT-208MC
- Driven tool holders and sleeves are optional
- The table has no Y-axis row and no milling power figure

Frequently Asked Questions

250 mm (9.8 in). The two-axis MT-210 turns up to 380 mm (15.0 in); the MC turret reduces the figure. Swing over the bed is 545 mm (21.5 in) and swing over the cross slide is 350 mm (13.8 in) on both.
02
The table lists a milling spindle speed of 6,000 rpm and 12 tool stations. No milling motor power, torque or Y axis is given, so plan on drilling, tapping and light milling on the part centreline and face, and confirm anything heavier with Ecoca.
03
They share the 250 mm (9.8 in) turning diameter, the 6,000 rpm milling spindle, 12 stations, the motor and the three bed lengths. The MT-210MC has a 10 in (254 mm) chuck and 4,200 rpm. The MT-208MC has an 8 in (203 mm) chuck and 4,800 rpm.

The series list includes a 3-jaw hydraulic chuck, soft jaw, hydraulic tailstock, live center, hydraulic system, coolant system, auto lubrication system, heat exchanger, work light, MPG hand wheel and static tool holders. Tool holders and sleeves for living tool are noted as optional.
