Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Honor Seiki VL-250C that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Honor Seiki VL-250C is the largest turning-only model in the Heavy Duty Series, with a 3,000 mm (118.1 in) swing, a 2,970 mm (116.9 in) turning diameter, 1,480 mm (58.2 in) of turning height and a 15,000 kg (33,069 lb) workpiece limit. It is the one machine on its page where swing and turning diameter are not the same number.
The gap is small, and it means a part right at the swing limit cannot be turned on its outermost diameter. For ring work that distinction is real. A 3,000 mm ring will rotate, but its outside diameter is beyond the tool; plan such a part for the next series up, where the VL-300C turns 3,600 mm (141.7 in).
That next step is a big one. The VL-300C carries 30,000 kg (66,138 lb), twice the VL-250C's rating, and belongs to what Honor Seiki calls its Large vertical lathe range. The VL-250C is the top of the more compact family, sharing its 1,480 mm height with the VL-200C and adding diameter and three tonnes of capacity over that machine's 12,000 kg (26,455 lb).
Solid lock clamping is standard on the VL-250, as is a top-open splash guard and a table with manual 4-jaw chuck. The tool carrier has 12 positions. Honor Seiki describes the structure as box way with Meehanite castings for column and bed. As elsewhere in the series, table speed, table diameter, motor power and machine weight are not on the page, so foundation planning needs the full data from the maker. A higher column, extended Z travel, a grinding function and a Siemens controller are options.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 3,000 mm (118.1 in) swing and 2,970 mm (116.9 in) turning diameter
- 15,000 kg (33,069 lb) workpiece limit, the highest in the Heavy Duty Series
- Solid lock clamping system is standard on the VL-250
- 1,480 mm (58.2 in) turning height with a higher column available as an option
- Top-open splash guard for crane loading
Limitations
- Turning diameter is 2,970 mm (116.9 in), slightly inside the 3,000 mm (118.1 in) swing
- No live spindle and 12 tool positions; the VL-250CM has both a live spindle and 16
- Load limit is half the 30,000 kg (66,138 lb) of the VL-300C
- Table speed, motor power and machine weight are not published

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Honor Seiki lists a maximum swing of 3,000 mm (118.1 in) and a maximum turning diameter of 2,970 mm (116.9 in). The page gives no explanation. In practice a part can rotate at the full swing but can only be cut out to the turning diameter.
02
15,000 kg (33,069 lb). That compares with 12,000 kg (26,455 lb) on the VL-200C and 30,000 kg (66,138 lb) on the VL-300C from the Large vertical lathe range.
03
The standard list for the page includes a top-open complete splash guard, a table with manual 4-jaw chuck, automatic lubrication, a coolant tank with bed wash down, a hinge type chip conveyor, spindle orientation and, for the VL-200 and VL-250, the Solid lock clamping system.
04
12 tool positions are listed for the VL-250C. The VL-250CM, which adds a 50-2,250 rpm live spindle, has 16 tool positions on the same turning envelope.
