Feeler FTC-300 — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the Feeler FTC-300 that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from Feeler or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

The Feeler FTC-300 is the smallest lathe in the FTC/FTB inclined-bed series: a 6 in (152 mm) chuck, ø300 mm (ø11.8 in) of maximum turning diameter and 320 mm (12.6 in) of turning length. Feeler gives its footprint as just 2.5 m × 1.5 m and calls it perfect for small parts.

Speed is what sets it apart from the rest of the family. The A2-5 spindle runs to 6,000 rpm, where the 8 in FTC-350/L/XL stops at 4,500 rpm. On small diameters that matters, because surface speed falls with diameter and a slow spindle cannot keep carbide in its working range on thin bar.

Bar capacity is ø52 mm (ø2.0 in) through a ø62 mm (ø2.4 in) bore, which is generous for a 6 in machine and makes it a natural bar-fed lathe. The turret has 10 stations. X travel is printed as 150+20 mm and Z travel is 350 mm (13.8 in), and the tailstock takes an MT-3 centre.

There is one bed length and no milling variant in this column of the table. Short shafts, bushings, fittings and other chucking parts fit; anything longer than 320 mm belongs on the L or XL beds of the FTC-350 family. The series runs on linear guides, with preloaded ball screws on X and Z and a one-piece cast inclined bed.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • 6,000 rpm spindle, the fastest main spindle in the FTC/FTB table
  • ø52 mm (ø2.0 in) bar capacity on a 6 in (152 mm) chuck machine
  • Footprint of just 2.5 m × 1.5 m, by Feeler's description
  • 10-station turret and an MT-3 tailstock

Limitations

  • Turning length is 320 mm (12.6 in) and there is no longer bed
  • No driven tools, Y axis or sub-spindle listed for this size
  • Maximum turning diameter stops at ø300 mm (ø11.8 in)
  • Power, torque and rapid rates are not on the series page

Best For

Small bar-fed parts up to ø52 mm Bushings, fittings and short shafts Shops with little floor space to give a lathe High-speed turning of small diameters at 6,000 rpm

Frequently Asked Questions

01 How big is the Feeler FTC-300?

Feeler says it occupies just 2.5 m × 1.5 m. Its working figures are a 6 in (152 mm) chuck, ø300 mm (ø11.8 in) maximum turning diameter, 320 mm (12.6 in) of turning length and 350 mm (13.8 in) of Z travel.

02 What bar size can it run?

ø52 mm (ø2.0 in), through a spindle hole of ø62 mm (ø2.4 in). That is the same bar size as the first figure on the 8 in FTC-350/L/XL, in a smaller and faster machine.

03 How many tools does the turret take?

10 stations. The larger two-axis lathes in the series are printed as 8(12), so the FTC-300 sits between their standard and alternative turrets. No tooling interface is given.

04 Is there a version with live tools?

No. The FTC-300 has one column, with empty Y-axis and E-axis cells and no bracketed alternatives. In this series, driven tools start with the FTC-350MC/LMC/XLMC.
