Top of the G Plus series by size, the Excetek V850G Plus is a submerged wire EDM for plates up to 1,100 x 850 x 345 mm (43.3 x 33.5 x 13.6 in) and 1,100 kg (2,425 lb). X travel is 800 mm (31.5 in) and Y travel 500 mm (19.7 in). Above this size Excetek's wire range changes to the V series machines, beginning with the V1060.
Weight capacity is where this model pulls away from its nearest sibling. The V650G Plus accepts 800 kg (1,764 lb); the V850G Plus accepts 1,100 kg (2,425 lb) on a table stroke that is wider in both axes. In a mold shop that difference decides whether a cavity plate is cut in one setup or has to go to a bigger machine.
