CHMER RV855L — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the CHMER RV855L that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from CHMER or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

Half a metre of Z travel is what distinguishes the CHMER RV855L wire EDM. On the 800 x 500 mm (31.5 x 19.7 in) fixed-table frame of the RV series it provides 500 mm (19.7 in) of Z, and the table lists a workpiece of 1,200 x 800 x 495 mm (47.2 x 31.5 x 19.5 in). The column is headed RV855L SUBMERGED.

Cutting a section that tall under water puts demands on the generator and on flushing, and it is here that CHMER's claims for the i8 power supply are most relevant: more powerful wire-break suppression, and better heat dissipation for continuous high-speed machining. Whether a given part can be cut at full height depends on material and wire, so a test cut is the sensible basis for a purchase.

The rest of the table follows the RV853L. Load is 3,000 kg (6,614 lb), U and V travel 150 x 150 mm (5.9 x 5.9 in), and X and Y run on linear motors at up to 1,800 mm/min (70.9 ipm). The taper rating is ±21°/80mm with the wide-angle nozzle.

The tall Z raises the machine. Overall height is 2,750 mm (108.3 in), against 2,200 mm for the RV853L, and weight is 8,000 kg (17,637 lb). Check the building's clear height and the route in before ordering.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • 500 mm (19.7 in) of Z travel for workpieces up to 495 mm tall
  • 3,000 kg (6,614 lb) workpiece rating on a fixed table
  • X and Y linear motors, feed up to 1,800 mm/min (70.9 ipm)
  • i8 power supply with stronger wire-break suppression, as CHMER describes it
  • 800 x 500 mm (31.5 x 19.7 in) of X and Y travel

Limitations

  • Overall height of 2,750 mm (108.3 in) needs a tall bay
  • Taper rating is ±21°/80mm, against ±21°/150mm on the RV853L
  • 8,000 kg (17,637 lb) machine weight
  • No accessory list on this model's page

Frequently Asked Questions

01 How tall a workpiece can the RV855L cut?

Z travel is 500 mm (19.7 in) and the maximum workpiece size is 1,200 x 800 x 495 mm (47.2 x 31.5 x 19.5 in). CHMER heads the specification column RV855L SUBMERGED.

02 What is the difference between the RV855L and the RV853L?

The RV855L has 500 mm of Z travel and stands 2,750 mm (108.3 in) high. The RV853L has 300 mm of Z, stands 2,200 mm high and has the taller ±21°/150mm taper rating. X and Y travel, U and V travel and the 3,000 kg (6,614 lb) load are shared.

03 How much space does the RV855L need?
