How much does the Excetek V2000 cost?

Price estimate

Uncertain

We do not have a price for the Excetek V2000 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.

Excetek V2000 — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the Excetek V2000 that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from Excetek or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

Long and narrow is the whole idea of the Excetek V2000. This V series wire EDM has 2,000 mm (78.7 in) of X travel but only 450 mm (17.7 in) of Y, a proportion found on no other machine in the range. It accepts a workpiece of 2,400 x 700 x 345 mm (94.5 x 27.6 x 13.6 in) and 2,500 kg (5,511 lb).

That shape fits rails, long die strips, knife and blade blanks, extrusion tooling and machine ways: parts that would need repositioning two or three times on a square-table machine. Each repositioning costs alignment time and leaves a witness line, so a single 2,000 mm pass has a quality argument as well as a time one.

Z travel is 350 mm (13.8 in) and the U and V axes move 160 x 160 mm (6.3 x 6.3 in). Excetek's table for this model is shorter than for its siblings. It prints no wire diameter, no taper angle, no machine weight and no count of controlled axes, all of which appear for the V1060. Those figures have to come from a quotation.

What the page does give is the installation envelope, 5,260 x 3,135 x 2,200 mm (207.1 x 123.4 x 86.6 in) with a 2,500 L water tank, and the W6 control data shared across the V series: an industrial PC, a 15-inch LCD touch screen with keyboard and mouse, a 512 MB CF card, LAN, USB and RS-232 input and a minimum command unit of 0.0001 mm. The maximum programmable dimension is ±9999.9999 mm, comfortably beyond the X stroke. Mechanical notes cover the water cooled lower arm, the HRC 50° stainless worktable and C1 class ball screws.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • 2,000 mm (78.7 in) of X travel for long parts cut in one setup
  • Workpieces up to 2,400 x 700 x 345 mm (94.5 x 27.6 x 13.6 in) and 2,500 kg (5,511 lb)
  • W6 control with a 0.0001 mm minimum command unit and ±9999.9999 mm maximum programmable dimension
  • C1 class ball screws with cryogenic treatment, supported at both sides
  • 2,200 mm (86.6 in) machine height, lower than the Z350 version of the V1060 at 2,310 mm

Limitations

  • Y travel is 450 mm (17.7 in), less than the 600 mm (23.6 in) of the V1060
  • No wire diameter, taper angle or machine weight is printed for this model
  • The machine is 5,260 mm (207.1 in) long, so it needs a clear wall or aisle of that length
  • Closed loop linear scales are an option, on an axis where 2,000 mm of screw has to be compensated

Best For

Rails, guide ways and long die strips up to 2,000 mm (78.7 in) Blade and knife blanks cut in a single pass Long extrusion and stamping tooling under 2,500 kg (5,511 lb) Narrow parts no wider than 450 mm (17.7 in) of cut

Frequently Asked Questions

01 What are the travels of the V2000?

X travel is 2,000 mm (78.7 in), Y travel 450 mm (17.7 in) and Z travel 350 mm (13.8 in). U and V travel 160 x 160 mm (6.3 x 6.3 in). The maximum workpiece is 2,400 x 700 x 345 mm (94.5 x 27.6 x 13.6 in).

02 What kind of work is the V2000 built for?

Long, narrow parts. With 2,000 mm (78.7 in) of X against 450 mm (17.7 in) of Y, it suits strips, rails and blades up to 2,500 kg (5,511 lb) that a square-table machine such as the V1280, with 1,200 mm (47.2 in) of X, could only cut in several setups.

03 What taper and wire sizes does the V2000 support?

The V2000 table does not say. It lists workpiece size and weight, the X/Y, U/V and Z travels, machine size and water tank capacity, and stops there. Wire diameter and maximum taper angle are printed for the other V series models but not for this one, so ask Excetek for both.

04 How much room does the V2000 take up?

Machine size is 5,260 x 3,135 x 2,200 mm (207.1 x 123.4 x 86.6 in) and the water tank capacity is 2,500 L. Machine weight is not stated, so floor loading needs a figure from the supplier before installation is planned.
