How much does the Emco Hyperturn 100 Powermill cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Emco Hyperturn 100 Powermill that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Emco Hyperturn 100 Powermill is a large turn-mill centre built around a single milling spindle instead of a turret. It turns up to 720 mm (with Milling spindle), swings 800 mm (31.5 in) over the bed and comes in three lengths, with Z travel of 1500 / 2200 / 3100 mm.
Every tool, turning or milling, goes into the same spindle and comes from a magazine with 40 / 100 stations. Emco rates the milling spindle at 12000 rpm and lists 5 axes simultaneous machining. Y travel is 420 mm (16.5 in), and the X row reads 780 (+760/-20) mm, meaning the tool can pass 20 mm beyond the centreline. That reach lets one tool face, bore and mill across the whole face of a large part. Maximum tool diameter in the magazine is 90 mm (3.5 in); a separate 3-position pick-up magazine holds boring bars and other oversized tools.
Two main spindles are listed. The smaller has an A2-8 nose with the first values of 3500 // 2500 rpm, 33 / 53 kW and 800 // 4400 Nm; the larger has an A2-11 nose and the second values. The jump in torque between them is large, so the choice follows the material and diameter of the work, not just bar size.
Options named by Emco include one or more NC steady rests, 80 bar high-pressure coolant, tool breakage monitoring and automatic tool presetting. Weight runs 25000 – 35000 kg and the footprint is 8100 / 8800 / 9600 x 3200 x 3000 mm, depending on length. The control is the Sinumerik ONE.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Milling spindle with 12000 rpm and 5 axes simultaneous machining
- Y travel of 420 mm (16.5 in), far beyond a turret Y axis
- Magazine with 40 / 100 stations plus a 3-position pick-up magazine for boring bars
- Three lengths: Z travel 1500 / 2200 / 3100 mm
- Main spindle torque of 800 // 4400 Nm depending on spindle size
Limitations
- No turret, so every tool change goes through the milling spindle and magazine
- Magazine tools are limited to 90 mm (3.5 in) in diameter
- The table lists no counter spindle
- Weighs 25000 – 35000 kg, with a footprint up to 9600 mm long

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Maximum turning diameter is 720 mm (with Milling spindle) and swing over the bed is 800 mm (31.5 in). Z travel is 1500 / 2200 / 3100 mm for the three machine lengths.
02
The product table lists a milling spindle with tool change, not a turret. The magazine has 40 / 100 stations for tools up to 90 mm (3.5 in) in diameter, and a 3-position pick-up magazine takes boring bars and tools of large dimensions.
03
Two. The speed row reads 3500 // 2500 rpm, power 33 / 53 kW and torque 800 // 4400 Nm. The first values go with the A2-8 nose and the second with the A2-11 nose.
04
The Hyperturn 200 Powermill is the larger machine, turning 1,000 mm (39.4 in) with an 84 kW (112.6 hp) main spindle and a counter spindle. The Hyperturn 100 Powermill turns 720 mm (with Milling spindle) and weighs 25000 – 35000 kg.
