Overview

The Mazak INTEGREX i-350S NEO is the full-capability variant of the current-generation i-350 NEO platform, combining a sub spindle and lower turning turret for simultaneous cutting with the upper milling head and lower turret while processing both part ends of medium-to-large parts. The combination of 10-inch main chuck, 102 mm bar capacity, and automatic part transfer makes this one of the most capable production multi-tasking machines in the NEO lineup.

The main turning spindle delivers 30 kW (40 hp) at 3,600 RPM through a 10-inch chuck with 102 mm (4.02 in) bar capacity. The sub spindle provides 22 kW (30 hp) at 3,600 RPM with an 8-inch chuck for back-working and part transfer operations. The NEO compact milling spindle head runs at 12,000 RPM with 24 kW (32 hp) through HSK-A63 tooling, with a 20,000 RPM high-speed option available.

Axis travels span 695 mm (27.4 in) on X, 300 mm (11.81 in) on Y, with machining lengths of 1,011 mm (39.80 in) or 1,519 mm (59.80 in). Maximum machining diameter is 670 mm (26.38 in). The B-axis provides 240 degrees (-30 to +210) with roller cam drive and 0.0001-degree indexing resolution.

The front-mounted 36-tool magazine expands to 72 or 110 positions. SmoothAi with Ai Thermal Shield. Machine weight approximately 19,000 kg (41,888 lb). New machines 00,000-00,000. Competitors: DMG Mori NTX 2500 and Okuma MULTUS U4000.

The lower turret adds 12-station live tooling for simultaneous cutting operations, bringing the total to 9 programmable axes. Simultaneous cutting reduces cycle times by 30-50% on complex parts. Machine weight approximately 20,500 kg (45,195 lb). New machines price between 0,000 and (,000.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • Simultaneous upper milling head and lower turret cutting reduces cycle times 30-50%
  • 9-axis capability enables the most productive done-in-one processing in the i-350 NEO family
  • NEO compact milling head maximizes usable envelope during simultaneous cutting
  • 30 kW main and 22 kW sub provide serious power for both-end roughing
  • 102 mm bar capacity supports lights-out production
  • Deep tool capacity from magazine plus 12-station lower turret

Limitations

  • Starting near 0K is the highest in the i-350 NEO family
  • 9-axis programming requires expert CAM and 6+ months ramp-up
  • 20,500 kg demands serious foundation engineering
  • Lower turret may not benefit simple or low-volume work
05

Best For

High-volume aerospace production needing simultaneous cutting Oil and gas where cycle time reduction drives competitive advantage Automotive tier-1 production of drivetrain shafts Defense production at rates justifying ST premium Mature multi-tasking shops maximizing spindle utilization

Frequently Asked Questions

01 i-350S NEO vs i-350ST NEO?

S has sub spindle only. ST adds 12-station lower turret for simultaneous cutting, reducing cycle times 30-50%. Adds K-K.

02 When is ST worth it?

When parts have 10+ operations and 500+ parts/year. For simple parts, choose the S.

03 vs DN Solutions SMX 3100ST?

SMX 3100ST is 70-80% of the Mazak price with similar capability. Mazak has NEO head, SmoothAi, and larger service network.

04 CAM software?

Esprit, NX, Hypermill, or Mastercam with qualified INTEGREX ST post. Budget K-K for post development.
