How much does the Ecoca VL-800 cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Ecoca VL-800 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The middle model of Ecoca's linear-guide VMC range, the VL-800, has 800 mm (31.5 in) of X travel over an 860 x 450 mm (33.9 x 17.7 in) table. Y travel is 450 mm (17.7 in), matching the table depth, and Z is 480 mm (18.9 in). The table is rated for 500 kg (1,102 lb).
Those proportions make it a long, narrow machine. The X stroke is close to twice the Y stroke, which is the right shape for three vises in a row, for bar-shaped parts such as rails and manifolds, or for a rotary axis mounted at one end with a tailstock at the other. Deep plates and square fixtures are better placed on the VL-1000, whose table is 510 mm (20.1 in) deep.
The cutting end is shared with the VL-600. A belt-driven BT-40 spindle reaches 8,000 rpm with an 11/15 kW (14.8/20.1 hp) motor, the armless changer carries 16 tools, and rapid traverse is 24/24/24 m/min (945/945/945 ipm). What the larger frame adds is weight, 4,000 kg (8,818 lb), which along with the heavier table rating says something about how much casting sits under the longer X axis.
Ecoca's notes on the series are brief: heavy-duty linear guideways, a high-rigidity structure, and large precision ball screws on the 3 axes, preloaded and pre-tensioned. Standard accessories listed on the page include a guideway cover, chip enclosure, cutting air blast, auto lube system, coolant system and leveling blocks. The page does not name a CNC control or give tool change times.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 800 mm (31.5 in) of X travel on a machine weighing 4,000 kg (8,818 lb)
- 500 kg (1,102 lb) table load, up from 300 kg (661 lb) on the VL-600
- Rapid traverse of 24/24/24 m/min (945/945/945 ipm)
- BT-40 spindle at 8,000 rpm with a belt drive
- Linear guideways with preloaded, pre-tensioned ball screws
Limitations
- Y travel is 450 mm (17.7 in), so deep parts need the VL-1000
- Spindle motor stays at 11/15 kW (14.8/20.1 hp); the VL-1000 lists 15/18.5 kW (20.1/24.8 hp)
- 16-tool armless changer only
- No control, tool change time or accuracy figures are published

Frequently Asked Questions
01
860 x 450 mm (33.9 x 17.7 in), with a maximum table load of 500 kg (1,102 lb). Axis travels are 800 mm (31.5 in) in X, 450 mm (17.7 in) in Y and 480 mm (18.9 in) in Z.
02
Rapid traverse is listed as 24/24/24 m/min (945/945/945 ipm) for X, Y and Z. The axes run on linear guideways, shown as LINEAR in the table, with preloaded and pre-tensioned precision ball screws.
03
A BT-40 spindle with belt drive and a top speed of 8,000 rpm, powered by a motor listed as 11/15 kW (14.8/20.1 hp). The tool changer is an armless type holding 16 tools.
