Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Ecoca VB-1600 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Ecoca VB-1600 pairs 1,600 mm (63.0 in) of X travel with 810 mm (31.9 in) of Y, the widest Y axis in Ecoca's VMC range and one it shares only with the VB-2000. The table is 1,700 x 800 mm (66.9 x 31.5 in) and is rated for 2,000 kg (4,409 lb). Z travel is 700 mm (27.6 in).
A table 800 mm deep changes what can be loaded. Square die blocks, welded frames and large plates that would overhang the 650 mm deep table of the VB-1400 sit fully supported here, and the 2,000 kg (4,409 lb) rating leaves margin for the fixture under them. Against the VB-1400, which has a 1,500 x 650 mm (59.1 x 25.6 in) table and a 1,600 kg (3,527 lb) limit, this is the model to choose when depth and weight, more than length, are the constraint.
The working end is the series standard for the larger sizes: BT-50 taper, belt drive to 8,000 rpm, a motor listed as 15/18.5 kW (20.1/24.8 hp) and an armless changer with 20 tools. Machine weight is 12,500 kg (27,557 lb). Like its siblings it has four guide ways on the base, Turcite-B coated guide ways on all 3 axes, and pre-loaded, pre-tensioned ball screws.
One figure cannot be read from Ecoca's table. The rapid traverse cells do not line up with the VB-1600 column: the heading sits over two different values. A buyer should ask Ecoca which rate applies. Tool weight limits and spindle torque are likewise not published.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 810 mm (31.9 in) of Y travel with a 1,700 x 800 mm (66.9 x 31.5 in) table
- 2,000 kg (4,409 lb) maximum table load
- BT-50 spindle with a 20-tool magazine
- 12,500 kg (27,557 lb) box-way machine with four guide ways on the base
- Turcite-B coated guide ways on all 3 axes
Limitations
- Rapid traverse for this model cannot be read reliably from Ecoca's table
- Spindle motor is 15/18.5 kW (20.1/24.8 hp), with no torque or gearbox data for the BT-50 spindle
- Z travel is 700 mm (27.6 in), no more than on the VB-1400
- Armless ATC with no published tool weight limit

Frequently Asked Questions
01
X travel is 1,600 mm (63.0 in), Y travel 810 mm (31.9 in) and Z travel 700 mm (27.6 in). The table measures 1,700 x 800 mm (66.9 x 31.5 in) and carries a maximum load of 2,000 kg (4,409 lb).
02
It is not clear from Ecoca's page. In the specification table the VB-1600 heading spans two rapid traverse cells with different values, so the figure for this model is ambiguous. Ask Ecoca for the X, Y and Z rapid rates when requesting a quotation.
03
The VB-1600 is longer, deeper and heavier. It has 810 mm (31.9 in) of Y against 760 mm (29.9 in) on the VB-1400, a 2,000 kg (4,409 lb) table load against 1,600 kg (3,527 lb), and weighs 12,500 kg (27,557 lb) against 11,000 kg (24,250 lb). Spindle, Z travel and tool capacity are the same.
04
A BT-50 spindle with belt drive, 8,000 rpm top speed and a 15/18.5 kW (20.1/24.8 hp) motor, cooled by a standard spindle cooling system. The armless ATC holds 20 tools.
