Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Ecoca VB-1200 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
Stretch the VB-1000 in X and you have the Ecoca VB-1200: X travel of 1,200 mm (47.2 in), up from 1,000 mm (39.4 in) on the VB-1000, with Y and Z left at 610 mm (24.0 in). The table grows to 1,300 x 510 mm (51.2 x 20.1 in) and its load rating to 900 kg (1,984 lb).
It is the largest VB model with a BT-40 spindle. From the VB-1400 upward the series changes to BT-50, a wider Y axis and a 20-tool magazine, so the VB-1200 is where a buyer decides whether 40-taper tooling is enough. For most plate work, fixtures and mould inserts it is, and the tooling is less costly to stock and quicker to change by hand. For large face mills and deep boring bars in steel, the bigger taper has the advantage.
The spindle is belt driven to 8,000 rpm with a motor listed as 15/18.5 kW (20.1/24.8 hp), and Ecoca includes a spindle cooling system. Axes rapid at 20/20/15 m/min (787/787/591 ipm). Sixteen tools sit in an armless changer.
Structurally nothing changes from the shorter model. The base has four guide ways to spread heavy loads, all 3 axes have guide ways coated with Turcite-B, and the bearings and ball screws are pre-loaded and pre-tensioned, which Ecoca links to accuracy. The table shows HARD RAIL guideways. Weight is 7,500 kg (16,534 lb), against 7,100 kg (15,653 lb) for the VB-1000 with its shorter bed and table. A screw conveyor, chip enclosure and movable electronic handwheel are standard.
