How much does the Ecoca MT-310MC cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Ecoca MT-310MC that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
Ecoca's MT-310MC adds a milling function to the 10 in (254 mm) chuck MT-310. The driven tools turn at up to 5,000 rpm, the main spindle at 4,200 rpm, and the turret keeps its 12 stations. Fitting the MC turret changes two capacity rows, and both are smaller than on the two-axis machine.
First, diameter: 330 mm (13.0 in) of maximum turning diameter, where the MT-310 allows 450 mm (17.7 in). Second, length. Each bed loses a little, giving 470 / 720 / 970 mm (18.5 / 28.3 / 38.2 in) in place of the 480 / 730 / 980 mm (18.9 / 28.7 / 38.6 in) of the MT-310. Neither change is dramatic, but a part drawn right at the limit of the plain lathe will not fit this one.
Compared with the smaller MT-210MC, the milling spindle here is slower, 5,000 rpm against 6,000 rpm, while the turning diameter is larger than that machine's 250 mm (9.8 in). That makes the MT-310MC the more natural home for flanged parts with bolt circles, where the holes sit well out from the centreline and the drills are not tiny.
Ecoca lets the buyer choose a servo turret or a hydraulic turret on this series. Driven tool holders and sleeves are optional, as the accessories note says. The main motor is 15/18.5 kW (20.1/24.8 hp), the ways are HARD RAIL on a 30 degree slant bed, and weight runs 5,100 / 5,500 / 6,000 kg (11,243 / 12,125 / 13,228 lb). No milling motor rating and no Y axis appear in the table.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 5,000 rpm milling spindle on a 12-station turret
- 330 mm (13.0 in) turning diameter, larger than the 250 mm (9.8 in) of the MT-210MC
- Servo or hydraulic turret offered as alternatives
- Bed lengths give 470 / 720 / 970 mm (18.5 / 28.3 / 38.2 in) of turning length
Limitations
- Turning diameter is 330 mm (13.0 in), compared with 450 mm (17.7 in) on the MT-310
- Each turning length is slightly shorter than on the MT-310, at most 970 mm (38.2 in)
- Milling speed of 5,000 rpm is below the 6,000 rpm of the MT-210MC
- Living tool holders and sleeves are optional

Frequently Asked Questions
01
5,000 rpm, according to the milling speed row of Ecoca's table. The main spindle speed is 4,200 rpm with a 15/18.5 kW (20.1/24.8 hp) drive motor. Power and torque of the milling drive are not published.
02
Maximum turning diameter is 330 mm (13.0 in) on the MT-310MC and 450 mm (17.7 in) on the MT-310. Turning lengths are 470 / 720 / 970 mm (18.5 / 28.3 / 38.2 in) on the MT-310MC and 480 / 730 / 980 mm (18.9 / 28.7 / 38.6 in) on the MT-310. Swing figures are identical.
03
Ecoca's table lists none for this model. Milling is therefore done with the X and Z axes and the rotation of the main spindle, which covers cross drilling, face drilling on a bolt circle, flats and keyways cut on centre.
04
Yes: the MT-312MC has a 12 in (305 mm) chuck and a main spindle speed of 3,200 rpm, with the same 5,000 rpm milling spindle, the same 330 mm (13.0 in) turning diameter and the same three lengths.
