We do not have a price for the Durma HD-TC 120500 MEGA that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Durma HD-TC 120500 MEGA is the largest tube and profile laser Durma lists. It holds round tube up to Ø500 mm (19.7 in), square profile up to 380 x 380 mm (15.0 x 15.0 in) and rectangular profile up to 400 x 350 mm (15.7 x 13.8 in), in lengths up to 12,500 mm (492.1 in). A single workpiece may weigh 2,100 kg (4,630 lb).
Those numbers place it among machines for pipe spools, large structural members and pole sections. Material weight is rated at 175 kg/m, well above the 125 kg/m of the HD-TC 120350 MEGA. The table notes the minimum remaining length as 0 (3 chuck), which indicates a third chuck that lets the tail of a bar be passed through and cut instead of scrapped.
Everything about the motion is tuned for mass. The A axis rotates at 150 °/s, less than half the rate of the 350 mm machines, while X and Y both run at 50 m/min and Z at 30 m/min. On a Ø500 mm tube the surface still passes under the head quickly at that rotation speed, so the lower figure is less of a handicap than it looks on paper.
A chain loader and a chain unloader are standard, with semi automatic loading for material 4,500-12,000 mm long. The smallest tube is Ø40 mm (1.6 in). Positioning accuracy is ±0.2 mm and positioning variation ±0.05 mm. The unloading-length row for this model is not printed cleanly in the brochure and is left out of the table here. Open profiles up to 380 x 380 mm (15.0 x 15.0 in) are covered.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Ø500 mm (19.7 in) round capacity, the largest in the HD-TC range
- Workpiece weight up to 2,100 kg (4,630 lb) at 175 kg/m
- 12,500 mm (492.1 in) material length
- Remaining material listed as 0 with the 3 chuck arrangement
- Rectangular profile up to 400 x 350 mm (15.7 x 13.8 in)
Limitations
- A axis rotation of 150 °/s is the slowest in the series
- Minimum tube diameter is Ø40 mm (1.6 in)
- Semi automatic loading range ends at 12,000 mm although material may be 12,500 mm (492.1 in) long
- The unloading length could not be read from Durma's table

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Round tube up to Ø500 mm (19.7 in), square profile up to 380 x 380 mm (15.0 x 15.0 in) and rectangular profile up to 400 x 350 mm (15.7 x 13.8 in). Open L, U and H profiles are listed up to 380 x 380 mm (15.0 x 15.0 in).
02
Maximum total workpiece weight is 2,100 kg (4,630 lb) and maximum material weight is 175 kg/m. The material can be up to 12,500 mm (492.1 in) long.
03
The X and Y axes run at 50 m/min, the Z axis at 30 m/min and the A axis at 150 °/s. For comparison, the HD-TC 120350 MEGA is listed at 80 m/min in X and 320 °/s on the A axis.
04
Durma's table gives the minimum length of remaining material as 0, with the note "3 chuck". On the smaller HD-TC 60220 the corresponding figure is 160 (140 optional) mm, so on heavy sections the saving per bar is considerable.
