Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Durma HD-FO that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Durma HD-FO is a compact fiber laser cutting machine built for shops that are short of floor space. It cuts 3,048 x 1,524 mm (120.0 x 60.0 in) sheet, but it is laid out differently from Durma's other flat-bed lasers: the laser source and the chiller sit inside the machine, and the standard machine has a manual cutting table instead of a shuttle table.
The axis table reflects that layout. X travel is 1,530 mm (60.2 in) and Y travel is 3,060 mm (120.5 in), so the long axis is Y. Z travel is 140 mm (5.5 in). Loading is through a quick-opening front door, and a rear door gives access for cutting and for maintenance.
Durma says sheet loading and unloading is easy in cases where no shuttle table is needed. That is the trade to weigh. With one manual table the machine stops while the operator clears parts and loads the next sheet. A pneumatic shuttle table can be ordered with a 1 or 2 KW power source. Each table is rated for a 730 kg (1,609 lb) sheet.
Dynamics are modest. Maximum speed is 90 m/min on X and on Y and 30 m/min on Z, with 127 m/min synchronized and 14 m/s² of synchronized acceleration. Positioning accuracy and repeatability are ±0.05 mm. The layout drawing shows an air supply of 6-8 bar at 150 L/min, and the brochure's cutting-capacity table does not cover the power levels named for this machine.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Laser source and chiller are housed inside the machine to keep the footprint small
- Full 3,048 x 1,524 mm (120.0 x 60.0 in) sheet capacity in a compact layout
- Quick-opening front door for loading and a rear door for access and maintenance
- 127 m/min synchronized speed with ±0.05 mm positioning accuracy and repeatability
- Each table takes a 730 kg (1,609 lb) sheet
Limitations
- A manual cutting table is standard; the pneumatic shuttle table is an option
- Axis speed is 90 m/min, against 100 m/min on the HD-FN 3015 and 120 m/min on the HD-F 3015 VI
- The brochure gives no cutting thicknesses for the 1 or 2 KW sources it names for this model
- Z travel is 140 mm (5.5 in)

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Not as standard. Durma states that the standard machine has a manual cutting table, and that a pneumatic shuttle table is available optionally with a 1 or 2 KW power source order. The maximum sheet weight is 730 kg (1,609 lb) for each table.
02
The maximum sheet size is 3,048 x 1,524 mm (120.0 x 60.0 in). Travel is 1,530 mm (60.2 in) on X, 3,060 mm (120.5 in) on Y and 140 mm (5.5 in) on Z, so the long side of the sheet lies along the Y axis.
03
The X and Y axes each reach 90 m/min and the Z axis 30 m/min. Maximum synchronized speed is 127 m/min and synchronized acceleration is 14 m/s². Positioning accuracy and repeatability are both ±0.05 mm.
04
Durma describes a design meant to minimize the machine footprint by incorporating the laser source and the chiller inside the machine. It also says the machine is designed especially for customers who have layout problems, with a compact bridge and a quick-opening front door.
