Overview

The Durma HD-TC 60250 COMPACT is the short-footprint member of the HD-TC tube and profile laser family. It cuts round tube from Ø16 mm (0.6 in) to Ø250 mm (9.8 in), square profile up to 160 x 160 mm (6.3 x 6.3 in) and rectangular profile up to 200 x 150 mm (7.9 x 5.9 in), in lengths up to 6,000 mm (236.2 in).

Compact refers to how material gets in and out. The table for this model has no bundle loader rows. A semi automatic loading unit for material between 5,800 - 6,100 mm long is listed as an option, and finished parts leave through a part box, with a conveyor as the optional alternative. Unloading length is given as 3,000 / 6,000 mm. A shop that feeds single lengths by hand or crane, in small lots, loses little by that.

The axis figures are unlike those of the other HD-TC machines. X runs at 40 m/min, Y at 94 m/min and Z at 30 m/min, and the rotary A axis turns at 510 °/s. Positioning accuracy is ±0.2 mm with a positioning variation of ±0.05 mm, which Durma defines as the cumulative accuracy of the axes, not the cut tolerance on a warped profile.

Material may weigh up to 58 kg/m and a workpiece up to 350 kg (772 lb). When the last part can be cut with one chuck, 95 mm of tube is left over; otherwise 255 mm. Open L, U and H sections up to 160 x 160 mm (6.3 x 6.3 in) can be cut, and an H section needs the slim-type head. The control is Durma CNC Aurora.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • Largest round capacity among the 6 m class HD-TC machines: Ø250 mm (9.8 in)
  • Cuts down to Ø16 mm (0.6 in) tube without an optional chuck set
  • Rotary A axis at 510 °/s and Y axis at 94 m/min
  • Open L, U and H profiles up to 160 x 160 mm (6.3 x 6.3 in)
  • Remaining material of 95 mm when the last part is cut with one chuck

Limitations

  • Semi automatic loading is an option and no bundle loader is listed for this model
  • Unloading is into a part box; the conveyor is optional
  • X axis speed is 40 m/min, against 60 m/min on the HD-TC 60220
  • The brochure table gives no laser power for the machine

Frequently Asked Questions

01 What tube sizes does the HD-TC 60250 COMPACT cut?

Round tube from Ø16 mm (0.6 in) to Ø250 mm (9.8 in), square profile to 160 x 160 mm (6.3 x 6.3 in) and rectangular profile to 200 x 150 mm (7.9 x 5.9 in). Maximum material length is 6,000 mm (236.2 in), maximum material weight 58 kg/m and maximum total workpiece weight 350 kg (772 lb).

02 How is material loaded and unloaded on the HD-TC 60250 COMPACT?

The table lists a semi automatic loading unit as an option for material 5,800 - 6,100 mm long, and an automatic unloading unit described as a part box, with a conveyor as an option. Unloading length is 3,000 / 6,000 mm.

03 How much material is left at the end of a tube?

The minimum length of remaining material is 95 mm if the last part can be cut with one chuck, otherwise 255 mm. For open type profiles the figures are 115 mm and 275 mm. Durma notes that the lead-in distance of the final cut may alter the scrap length.

04 How accurate and fast is the HD-TC 60250 COMPACT?

Positioning accuracy is ±0.2 mm and positioning variation ±0.05 mm. Axis speeds are 40 m/min in X, 94 m/min in Y and 30 m/min in Z, with the A axis rotating at 510 °/s. Tube centre search with a capacitive sensor is included.
