Durma AD-ES 1240 — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the Durma AD-ES 1240 that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from Durma or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

The Durma AD-ES 1240 is a small all-electric press brake: 40 ton of bending force over a 1,250 mm (49.2 in) bending length, with no hydraulic oil anywhere in the drive. A servo motor, a reducer and a ball screw and nut move the beam, and Durma lists a mechanical roller bearing as the fourth main component.

It is a machine for small parts made in quantity. The distance between columns is 1,050 mm (41.3 in), the throat is 250 mm (9.8 in) deep, and the whole machine is 2,150 mm (84.6 in) long. Stroke is 200 mm (7.9 in) with 440 mm (17.3 in) of daylight, enough for box sections and tall tooling. The working height is 1,000 mm (39.4 in).

The beam approaches and returns at 115 mm/sec. Bending speed is given as 10-20 mm/sec. On short flanges most of a cycle is approach and return, which is where an electric drive of this kind earns its keep; Durma's own comparison for the series claims 40% less energy consumption and 17% more productivity than a hydraulic machine.

Four CNC axes are standard: Y1, Y2, X and R, run from a DA-66S control. The back gauge travels 650 mm (25.6 in) in X and 250 mm (9.8 in) in R on linear guides and a ballscrew. Z1 and Z2 are an option, as are the DA-69S control and a Delta X axis with +/- 125 mm stroke. Motorized CNC crowning is listed as standard for the AD-ES 2040, not for this model, which at this length is rarely a concern.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • Hydraulic oil-free drive: servo motor, reducer, ball screw and nut
  • 115 mm/sec rapid and return speed on a 200 mm (7.9 in) stroke
  • Four CNC axes as standard (Y1, Y2, X, R) with a DA-66S control
  • 440 mm (17.3 in) of daylight on a machine only 2,150 mm (84.6 in) long
  • Back gauge with 650 mm (25.6 in) of X and 250 mm (9.8 in) of R travel

Limitations

  • 40 ton and 1,250 mm (49.2 in) restrict it to short parts in thin and medium sheet
  • Only 1,050 mm (41.3 in) between the columns
  • Z1 and Z2 back gauge axes are an option
  • The equipment list names CNC motorized crowning for the AD-ES 2040 only

Frequently Asked Questions

01 Is the AD-ES 1240 fully electric?

Yes. Durma lists a servo motor, a reducer, a ball screw and nut and a mechanical roller bearing as the main components and describes the drive as hydraulic oil-free. For the series it claims 40% less energy consumption and 17% more productivity against a hydraulic press brake.

02 What are the bending capacity and open height of the AD-ES 1240?

Bending force is 40 ton over a bending length of 1,250 mm (49.2 in). Stroke is 200 mm (7.9 in), daylight 440 mm (17.3 in) and throat depth 250 mm (9.8 in). The distance between columns is 1,050 mm (41.3 in).

03 How fast is the AD-ES 1240?

Rapid speed and return speed are both 115 mm/sec. Bending speed is listed as 10-20 mm/sec with an asterisk; the AD-ES brochure does not print the note that belongs to it, so ask Durma which conditions apply to the upper value.

04 How does the AD-ES 1240 differ from the AD-ES 2040?

Both are 40 ton machines with the same stroke, daylight and speeds. The AD-ES 2040 bends 2,050 mm (80.7 in), has 1,700 mm (66.9 in) between columns and a 350 mm (13.8 in) throat, and gets CNC controlled motorized crowning as standard. The AD-ES 1240 is the shorter, 2,150 mm (84.6 in) long machine.
