How much does the DMS Bryce3 cost?

Price estimate

Uncertain

We do not have a price for the DMS Bryce3 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.

DMS Bryce3 — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the DMS Bryce3 that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from DMS or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

The DMS Bryce3 is a 3-axis moving-bridge CNC router offered across a range of sizes instead of one fixed frame. The data sheet gives the strokes as minimum and maximum: 5 ft to 6 ft on X, which DMS defines as the bridge axis, and 5 ft to 12 ft on Y. DMS describes it as a low Z 3-axis workhorse, so within the 3-axis line this is the machine for flat stock.

Motion is rack and pinion, with absolute encoders on every motor and a Fagor 8065 control. Stated accuracy is 0.0025-0.005 in (0.064-0.127 mm). That band suits panel, sheet and pattern routing better than close-tolerance metal work, and a buyer with a tighter requirement should ask DMS where in the band a given configuration lands.

Spindle choice sets the character of the machine. DMS lists Hiteco MT200, MT201, PT300 and PT400 units covering 4.5-13 kW S1, up to a ceiling of 13 kW S1 / 15 kW S6 and 24,000 rpm. Tools are changed from a rack, a carousel or by hand, with a maximum of 10 on the changer. A C-axis is optional.

Table sizes run 5 ft wide by 5, 10, 12, 15, 20 or 25 ft long, or 6 ft wide by 10 or 12 ft. Set beside the Redwood3, which takes spindles up to 18 kW S1 and X strokes up to 20 ft, the Bryce3 is the narrower machine with the smaller spindle range. Every figure on this sheet is a range or a limit, so the quotation is what fixes the travel, spindle and tool changer of an actual machine.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • Spindle range of 4.5-13 kW S1 across four Hiteco units (MT200, MT201, PT300, PT400), all within a 24,000 rpm limit
  • Tables from 5 ft x 5 ft to 5 ft x 25 ft, plus 6 ft x 10 ft and 6 ft x 12 ft, cover single sheets and long nests
  • Absolute encoders on all motors and a Fagor 8065 control
  • Tool changing by rack, carousel or manual, with up to 10 tools
  • A C-axis is available as an option on the same frame

Limitations

  • X stroke tops out at 6 ft, so wide panels and parts belong on the Redwood3, whose X range reaches 20 ft
  • Maximum spindle power is 13 kW S1 / 15 kW S6; the Teton3 and Redwood3 go to 18 kW S1 / 21 kW S6
  • Stated accuracy is 0.0025-0.005 in (0.064-0.127 mm), and the data sheet lists no feedback scales for this model
  • The tool changer holds 10 tools at most

Best For

Sheet and panel routing in wood, plastics and composites on 5 ft or 6 ft wide tables Long nests on tables up to 5 ft x 25 ft Low-Z flat work that needs no more than 13 kW S1 at the spindle Shops that want rack, carousel or manual tool change on one platform

Frequently Asked Questions

01 What sizes does the DMS Bryce3 come in?

DMS lists tables 5 ft wide in lengths of 5, 10, 12, 15, 20 or 25 ft, and 6 ft wide in lengths of 10 or 12 ft. The stroke table gives X, the bridge axis, as 5 ft minimum and 6 ft maximum, and Y as 5 ft minimum and 12 ft maximum. Confirm the stroke that goes with a particular table when you ask for a quotation.

02 Which spindles can the Bryce3 take?

The units listed are the Hiteco MT200, MT201, PT300 and PT400. Together they span 4.5-13 kW on the S1 rating, and the maximum for the model is 13 kW S1 / 15 kW S6 at up to 24,000 rpm. The data sheet does not say which unit is the base fitment, so treat the spindle as a line on the quotation.

03 How is the Bryce3 driven and controlled?

The transmission is rack and pinion. All motor encoders are absolute, and the control is a Fagor 8065. Where the Teton3 and Redwood3 list linear scales as an option, the Bryce3 data sheet lists none.

04 How does the Bryce3 differ from the Redwood3?

Both are rack-and-pinion 3-axis routers with a Fagor 8065. The Bryce3 has an X range of 5 ft to 6 ft and spindles up to 13 kW S1. The Redwood3 has an X range of 5 ft to 20 ft, a Y range up to 100 ft, spindles up to 18 kW S1 and Z strokes of 36 in or 48 in, where DMS describes the Bryce3 as a low Z machine.
