How much does the DMS Freedom12 cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the DMS Freedom12 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The DMS Freedom12 is the largest table in the Freedom line, a 3-axis moving-gantry CNC router with a 5 ft x 12 ft (1,524 x 3,658 mm) table and 60 in (1,524 mm) of X stroke. DMS describes it as an upgrade in strength and weight over its 5 ft x 10 ft sibling, the Freedom10, and aims it at nested-based machining of large sheets.
Where the smaller Freedom machines list a spread of spindles, this one is listed with only the two larger Hiteco units, the PT300 and PT400, at 8 kW and up to 24,000 rpm. The product page lists pneumatic pop-up pins for referencing sheets and an HSK-63F 10-piece tooling package as included, and a C-axis is optional. Control is a Fagor 8070 OL with a 17 in LCD screen, driving Fagor industrial AC servo motors and amplifiers on all axes.
The published material for this model is inconsistent, and a buyer should know that before relying on it. The product page and the data sheet give different figures for Y stroke, Z stroke, rapid feed rate, table material, drive type and the standard spindle, and they differ on whether the drill bank is standard or optional. Only the figures on which the two agree are in the table on this page.
What is not in dispute: 220 V 3-phase power at 60 Hz with current set by the spindle option, manual lubrication, a hood for a 5 in dust collection line, and Ethernet, USB and serial connections. Get the travels, the drive type and the standard equipment in writing with the quotation.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 5 ft x 12 ft (1,524 x 3,658 mm) table, the largest in the Freedom line
- Listed with the Hiteco PT300 and PT400 spindles at 8 kW and up to 24,000 rpm
- Pneumatic pop-up pins for referencing material and an HSK-63F 10-piece tooling package are listed as included
- Fagor 8070 OL controller with a 17 in LCD screen and Fagor industrial AC servo motors on all axes
Limitations
- DMS publishes conflicting Y stroke, Z stroke, rapid feed and drive-type figures for this model
- Spindle power is 8 kW at most, no more than on the much smaller Freedom4
- Lubrication is manual, so greasing the axes is an operator task
- Requires 220 V 3-phase power at 60 Hz

Frequently Asked Questions
01
The table is 5 ft x 12 ft (1,524 x 3,658 mm), and the X axis stroke is 60 in (1,524 mm). DMS gives two different Y stroke figures for this model, one on the product page and one on the data sheet, so the Y travel should be confirmed with the maker.
02
The comparison table lists the Hiteco PT300 and PT400, a spindle range of 8 kW, a maximum of 8 kW and a maximum speed of 24,000 rpm. The product page and the data sheet name different standard spindles, so ask DMS which one is in the base machine. An HSK-63F 10-piece tooling package is listed as included.
03
A Fagor 8070 OL controller with a 17 in LCD screen. The data sheet lists Fagor industrial AC servo motors and amplifiers on all axes, and connectivity is by Ethernet, USB and serial.
04
The Freedom12 has a 5 ft x 12 ft table; the Freedom10 has a 60 x 120 in (1,524 x 3,048 mm) cutting area. X stroke is 60 in (1,524 mm) on both. The Freedom10 lists spindles from 4.5-8 kW, while the Freedom12 is listed only with the PT300 and PT400 at 8 kW.
