Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Dener XL 40400 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Dener XL 40400 is the heaviest four-metre machine in the Smart XL hydraulic press brake table: 400 ton on a 4,050 mm (159.4 in) bed, in a frame that weighs 25,000 kg (55,115 lb).
One row sets it apart from every lighter XL. Throat depth is 600 mm, not 450 mm. A deeper throat lets a plate wider than the 3,550 mm between the side frames reach further into the machine, and it gives more room to turn a heavy part between bends.
The rest is sized to match. Stroke is 400 mm and daylight 650 mm. A 37 kW (49.6 hp) motor feeds the cylinders from a 400 lt tank. The ram moves at 80 mm/sec in both directions outside the bend and at 10 mm/sec in it, well below the pace of the XL 40320.
This is also a physically bigger installation than its bending length suggests. It is 5,000 mm long, 2,770 mm wide with front supports and 3,560 mm high at the top. Before ordering, check the route into the building and whether the floor can take the load. Dener's standard build still includes only an X, R backgauge and manual crowning, so heavy-plate buyers usually specify more.

Force and frame. The XL 40320 is a 320 ton machine with a 450 mm throat and weighs 17,500 kg. The XL 40400 has 400 ton, a 600 mm throat, a 37 kW motor and weighs 25,000 kg.

Approach speed and return speed are both 80 mm/sec, and bending speed is 10 mm/sec. The stroke is 400 mm, so a full open-and-close takes noticeably longer than on the lighter models.
