CHMER GX430L+ — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the CHMER GX430L+ that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from CHMER or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

The CHMER GX430L+ takes the 400 x 300 mm (15.7 x 11.8 in) wire EDM format and puts linear motors on the X and Y axes. Z travel is 220 mm (8.7 in). CHMER's table heads the column GX430L+ SUBMERGED, and its three stated features are a highly efficient in-house linear motor drive system, an energy-saving AWT and an inverter type water chiller.

On paper the envelope matches the servo-driven G43S exactly: the same travels, the same 725 x 600 x 215 mm (28.5 x 23.6 x 8.5 in) workpiece and the same 350 kg (772 lb) load. The difference is the drive. The GX430L+ lists a maximum X Y feed rate of 1,800 mm/min (70.9 ipm), where the G43S lists 800 mm/min (31.5 ipm).

U, V and Z stay on AC servo motors. Taper is ±14.5°/80 with a wide-angled nozzle and U and V travel is 60 x 60 mm (2.4 x 2.4 in), so the machine is aimed at accurate straight and shallow-taper work, not at steep draft angles.

Supply is given as 3 Phase 220 ±10% 11kva, and the machine weighs 2,600 kg (5,732 lb). CHMER's page for this model carries no accessory list and no outside dimensions in the table, so the scope of standard equipment should be settled in the quotation.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • Linear motor X and Y axes with a 1,800 mm/min (70.9 ipm) maximum feed rate
  • 400 x 300 x 220 mm (15.7 x 11.8 x 8.7 in) travels with a 350 kg (772 lb) workpiece limit
  • CHMER lists an energy-saving AWT and an inverter type water chiller among the model's features
  • Power requirement stated in the table: 3 Phase 220 ±10% 11kva

Limitations

  • Taper limited to ±14.5°/80 on 60 x 60 mm (2.4 x 2.4 in) U and V axes
  • U, V and Z axes are AC servo driven, not linear
  • No standard or optional accessory list is published on the model page
  • Z travel of 220 mm (8.7 in) restricts part height

Frequently Asked Questions

01 What does the plus in GX430L+ stand for in the specifications?

CHMER's page does not define it. What the page does state for the model is a highly efficient in-house linear motor drive system, an energy-saving AWT and an inverter type water chiller, and the table lists X and Y as linear motor axes with U, V and Z on AC servo motors.

02 How does the GX430L+ compare with the G43S?

Travels (400 x 300 x 220 mm), workpiece size and the 350 kg (772 lb) load are the same. The GX430L+ has linear motors on X and Y and a maximum feed rate of 1,800 mm/min (70.9 ipm); the G43S uses AC servo motors throughout and lists 800 mm/min (31.5 ipm).

03 What power supply does the GX430L+ need?

The table gives the maximum power consumption as 3 Phase 220 ±10% 11kva. Machine weight is 2,600 kg (5,732 lb). The table on CHMER's page does not include outside dimensions for this model.

04 What wire and taper does the GX430L+ handle?

Wire of 0.15-0.3 mm (0.006-0.012 in), with 0.25 mm (0.010 in) standard, at 300-2,500 gf of tension and up to 300 mm/sec feed. The taper rating is ±14.5°/80 with a wide-angled nozzle, on U and V axes that travel 60 x 60 mm (2.4 x 2.4 in).
