Campro NU 630 — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the Campro NU 630 that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from Campro or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

The Campro NU 630 is the traveling column member of the NU series and works differently from the trunnion machines beside it. Instead of tilting the part, it tilts the tool: a swivel head forms a controlled B axis with a ±110° range, and a rotary table set into the fixed work table supplies the 360° C axis.

That layout gives it a long bed. X travel is 1,320 mm (52.0 in), Y is 610 mm (24.0 in) and Z is 762 mm (30.0 in), and the table row reads 1,525 x 635 / Ø610 mm. Campro says the embedded rotary table design supports both 3-axis and 5-axis jobs, so a long part can be clamped along the table for ordinary vertical work while smaller parts go on the rotary table for 5-axis machining. Neither kind of job needs the other's fixture removed.

The spindle is the most powerful in the NU series as listed: 12,000 rpm with a 36.5 kW (49 HP) motor on a BBT-40 shank, compared with 20 / 30 kW (40 HP) on the NU 550. The tool storage capacity is 40. Rapid traverse is 36 / 36 / 30 m/min for X / Y / Z.

Campro publishes a short table for this model. It gives no machine weight, floor plan, table load, tool size limits, rotary axis speeds or power capacity, and no control is named. Those figures have to come from the maker before a layout or a foundation is planned.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • Swivel head B axis with a ±110° range, so heavy parts stay flat on the table while the tool tilts
  • 1,320 mm (52.0 in) of X travel on a 1,525 x 635 mm table
  • Rotary table embedded in the work table, which Campro says supports both 3-axis and 5-axis jobs
  • 12,000 rpm spindle with a 36.5 kW (49 HP) motor
  • Tool storage capacity of 40 with BBT-40 shanks

Limitations

  • Campro's table gives no table load, machine weight, floor plan or power capacity for this model
  • No tool diameter, length or weight limits are published
  • Y travel of 610 mm (24.0 in) is narrow against 1,320 mm (52.0 in) of X
  • Rotary axis speeds are not listed, unlike the trunnion models of the series

Best For

Long parts that need 5-axis features, within 1,320 mm (52.0 in) of X travel Mixed 3-axis and 5-axis work on one table without changing the setup Angled drilling and milling with the ±110° swivel head Jobs that call for the 36.5 kW (49 HP) spindle at up to 12,000 rpm

Frequently Asked Questions

01 How does the NU 630 differ from the other NU machines?

The other models in the series tilt the workpiece on a trunnion table with A and C axes. The NU 630 is a traveling column machine with a swivel head as a controlled B axis, ±110°, and a C axis rotary table embedded in the work table. X travel is 1,320 mm (52.0 in), longer than the 940 mm (37 in) of the NU 550.

02 What is the table size of the NU 630?

The table dimension row reads 1,525 x 635 / Ø610 mm, which is the rectangular work table and the rotary table set into it. Campro states that the embedded rotary table design supports both 3-axis and 5-axis jobs. No table load is published for this model.

03 What spindle is fitted to the NU 630?

The table lists a spindle speed of 12,000 rpm, a spindle motor of 36.5 kW (49 HP) and a BBT-40 tool shank. The tool storage capacity is 40. Campro does not publish torque, tool size limits or tool change times for this model.

04 How fast are the linear axes of the NU 630?

Rapid traverse is listed as 36 / 36 / 30 m/min for X / Y / Z. Travels are 1,320 mm (52.0 in), 610 mm (24.0 in) and 762 mm (30.0 in). Campro gives no rapid figures for the B and C axes and no cutting feedrate in the table for this machine.
