How much does the Campro VT-420 cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Campro VT-420 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
Campro lists two vertical lathes, and the VT-420 is the one with the longer cross slide. Its X axis travels 210 + 25 mm, which raises the maximum turning diameter to Ø420 mm (Ø16.5 in). In every other row of the table it is identical to the VT-350.
That makes the buying decision simple. If the largest part is under Ø350 mm (Ø13.8 in), the VT-350 covers it. Between that and Ø420 mm, this is the model. Nothing is given up for the extra reach: the weight is 5,000 kg (11,023 lb), the floor plan with chip conveyor 2,115 × 2,735 mm and the height 2,750 mm on both machines.
One caution follows from the same table. The chuck is still 12 in and the maximum swing over the bed is still listed as 400 mm, so a Ø420 mm part is at the edge of what the machine clears and of what the standard chuck grips. Jaw design and part shape should be checked with Campro for work near the limit. Maximum turning length is 298 mm (11.7 in).
The cutting side is strong for the size. A 22 / 26 kW (35 HP) motor drives the A2-8 spindle to 2,000 rpm, and the Ø120 mm bearing diameter and what Campro calls a large-span bearing arrangement support heavy facing cuts on discs. The 12-station servo turret indexes in 0.3 sec and takes □25 / Ø40 mm (O.D. / I.D.) tooling. Z travel is 355 mm (14.0 in), and both axes rapid at 20 m/min.
Services are 30 kVA of power and a 35~40 kg/cm² hydraulic source, with a 450 L coolant tank. The maker's table is metric only.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Ø420 mm (Ø16.5 in) maximum turning diameter on a compact vertical lathe
- Same 5,000 kg (11,023 lb) weight and 2,115 × 2,735 mm floor plan as the VT-350
- 22 / 26 kW (35 HP) spindle motor with an A2-8 nose
- 12-station servo turret, 0.3 sec tool change time
- 20 m/min rapids on X and Z with direct motor drive, per Campro
Limitations
- Chuck remains 12 in and swing over bed 400 mm, tight for parts near the maximum diameter
- Turning length limited to 298 mm (11.7 in)
- Maximum spindle speed of 2,000 rpm
- Blocked-center cylinder and no driven tools in the table

Frequently Asked Questions
01
The maximum turning diameter is Ø420 mm (Ø16.5 in), with an X axis travel of 210 + 25 mm. The table lists a turning diameter of Ø200 mm, a maximum swing over bed of 400 mm and a maximum turning length of 298 mm (11.7 in).
02
Not in footprint or weight. Both are listed at 5,000 kg (11,023 lb) and 2,115 × 2,735 x 2,750 mm with chip conveyor, with the same 12 in chuck, 22 / 26 kW (35 HP) motor and 12-station turret. The VT-350 has 175 + 25 mm of X travel and a Ø350 mm (Ø13.8 in) maximum turning diameter.
03
A servo turret with 12 stations. Tool shanks are □25 / Ø40 mm (O.D. / I.D.) and the tool change time is 0.3 sec. The table gives no driven tool speed or C axis for this model, so it is a 2-axis turning machine.
04
Campro states that its vertical turning center uses a slant design over the bed for rigidity and chip disposal, a large-span bearing arrangement on an air-tight spindle, and an alloy rail design directly driven by motor on the X and Z axes.
