How much does the Breton Hawx E1 K60 cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Breton Hawx E1 K60 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
Six metres of X travel on a one-piece frame is the point of the Breton Hawx E1 K60. The 5-axis gantry machining centre lists 6,000 mm (236.2 in) in X, 1,900 mm (74.8 in) in Y and 1,300 mm (51.2 in) in Z, and Breton aims it at milling and trimming of complex shapes in light alloys, polymers, resins and composite materials.
Long and fairly narrow is the right way to picture the envelope. Boat and vehicle patterns, wing-like panels and long extrusions fit; anything wider than the Y travel does not, however much X is left over. Where length matters less, the Breton Hawx E1 K40 offers 4,000 mm (157.5 in) of X on otherwise identical rows.
A long bed is also a chance to split the table. Breton lists more than 4 workload automation configurations for the Hawx: mechanical clamping, a modular vacuum grid, double-acting suction cups or an automatic pallet changer. Which of them a given machine carries is a matter for the order, and the version table says nothing about table load.
Traverse speed matters more as the axis gets longer. The K60 keeps the E1 rapids of 80 m/min (3,150 ipm) in X and Y, with 60 m/min (2,362 ipm) in Z. The spindle reaches 24,000 rpm and is rated 25 kW (33.5 hp) in S6, with 20 Nm (14.8 lb-ft) of S6 torque, on an HSK-A63 / HSK-F63 interface.
Breton describes the Hawx as suited to both wet and dry machining, so the same machine can cut aluminium with coolant and trim laminate with extraction.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 6,000 mm (236.2 in) of X travel on the self-supporting monolithic E1 structure
- X and Y rapids of 80 m/min (3,150 ipm) keep repositioning short over a long bed
- Breton lists more than 4 workload automation configurations, including a modular vacuum grid and an automatic pallet changer
- Head ranges of -135° to 105° in A and -270° to 270° in C
- Described by the maker as suited to both wet and dry machining
Limitations
- Y stays at 1,900 mm (74.8 in), so the extra length does not help with wide parts
- S1 torque is 18 Nm (13.3 lb-ft); the spindle is sized for small tools, not for heavy stock removal
- The rotary axes turn at 28 rpm, which limits how fast the head can reorient between faces
- No accuracy, table load or weight rows in the version table

Frequently Asked Questions
01
X travel is 6,000 mm (236.2 in), with 1,900 mm (74.8 in) in Y and 1,300 mm (51.2 in) in Z. The usable length on a real part is a little less than the travel once the head is tilted, so check the part against the maker's layout drawing when it is close to the limit.
02
In X and Y it is faster on paper: 80 m/min (3,150 ipm) against the 70 m/min (2,756 ipm) that the Breton Hawx E2 K58 lists. Z is 60 m/min (2,362 ipm) on both, and the rotary axes are 28 rpm on both.
03
Breton names more than 4 workload automation configurations for the Hawx: mechanical clamping, a modular vacuum grid, double-acting suction cups, or an automatic pallet changer. The version table does not say which is standard, so treat the clamping system as part of the specification to agree with the maker.
04
The control is Siemens Sinumerik One, which Breton calls the latest generation of Siemens numerical control. The tool taper row reads HSK-A63 / HSK-F63, and the spindle runs to 24,000 rpm.
