Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Baykal APHS 1254x40 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Baykal APHS 1254x40 is the shortest press brake in the APHS table: 400 kN of bending force on a 1,250 mm (49.2 in) bending length. Everything about it is scaled down. It weighs 3.3 Ton, runs on a 4 kW (5.4 hp) motor and holds 80 L of oil, the only tank of that size in the series.
A short bed is not a shortened long one. The frames stand 1,070 mm (42.1 in) apart, so a part wider than that has to stay within the 410 mm (16.1 in) throat gap. The working height is lower as well: the bed sits at 800 mm (31.5 in), where the APHS 2104x60 and every larger model start at 880 mm (34.6 in) or more. For an operator who handles small parts all day, seated or standing, that is a practical difference.
Open height is the tightest of the family. Daylight opening is 455 mm (17.9 in) with a stroke of 215 mm (8.5 in), so tall punches and deep channels need checking against the tooling. The ram approaches at 160 mm/s, bends at 10 mm/s and returns at 130 mm/s, the same pace as the 3,100 mm (122 in) models up to the APHS 3108x160.
Baykal describes the APHS as compact and flexible with an ergonomic control. The technical data sheet does not name the control or list backgauge axes, so those belong in the quotation.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Smallest footprint of the series, with a side frame width of 1,470 mm (57.9 in) and a weight of 3.3 Ton
- Bed height of 800 mm (31.5 in), the lowest in the APHS table
- Full series ram speeds: 160 mm/s approach and 130 mm/s return
- Modest services: a 4 kW (5.4 hp) motor and an 80 L oil tank
Limitations
- 400 kN is the lowest bending force Baykal lists for the APHS
- Daylight opening of 455 mm (17.9 in) and a 215 mm (8.5 in) stroke restrict tall tooling
- Only 1,070 mm (42.1 in) between the side frames
- The data sheet names no control and gives no backgauge figures

Frequently Asked Questions
01
The table gives 400 kN over a bending length of 1,250 mm (49.2 in). The side frames are 1,070 mm (42.1 in) apart and the throat gap is 410 mm (16.1 in).
02
Baykal gives an approximate weight of 3.3 Ton. The next model up, the APHS 2104x60, is listed at 5.4 Ton, so this is the size of the series that is easiest on floors and small forklifts; confirm both before ordering.
03
The daylight opening of 455 mm (17.9 in) and the stroke of 215 mm (8.5 in). From the APHS 2606x90 upward the series offers 260 mm (10.2 in) of stroke, so deep box work is better placed on a larger model.
04
Baykal's page for the APHS lists an ergonomic control among the features but the technical data sheet does not name a make or model. Ask for the control and the backgauge configuration in writing with the offer.
